how do you use a(r^n -1)/ (r-1) to find sum to infinity without just changing the signs to a(1- r^n)/ (1-r) ?

Our teacher said that a(r^n -1)/ (r-1) is used with the restriction that r>1 while a(1- r^n)/ (1-r) is used when r<1 so we can't use a(r^n -1)/ (r-1) to find sum to infinity so she is wrong?

As I said, I'm just curious on peoples opinions on religion. I'm not saying ALL religious people are rude and obnoxious. Only the hard core ones, who are actually more rude then most people I've ever met in my life.
Obviously I can't prove that someone made up god,but I'm also not telling you to "believe". I'm saying, in Pakistan, they think by killing people (suicide bombing) you goto heaven and get 10 virgins!?!?!? Hmmm. God's pretty weird if he's down for killing his own "children". I'm saying, there are so many views on who god is and what god is.But no one knows forsure.So why do religious people go out and cult people together?Is it because they're scared that the religion is dying,and they wont know what to do without belief?

Ok, I am gay.Here is my agenda:

Daily Agenda:
I get up in the morning have breakfast
Work
Have lunch
Work
Have dinner
Relax and watch some TV
Go to bed

Yearly, Monthly, and/or weekly Agenda:
Pay Bills
Buy Groceries
Pay Taxes
Attend Church(occasionally)

Other Agenda's:
Vote
Travel
Shop
Enjoy life
Communicate with family
Have a wonderful other half of 6 years and enjoy that meaningful relationship

Boy, I sound dangerous, don't I?Since I am gay and that is my agenda then that means I have a "gay agenda", right?

So, out of curiosity, why do many people who have such warrantless dislike for who I am because I am gay constantly suggest I have some evil agenda?

P.S.
Just to point out that while I appreciate any answer, I am not singling any one group or one type of person out in my question and rather am addressing what the phrase "gay agenda" is suppose to mean to people who use it and how that applies to me based on what my actual agenda(above) is.

As a guy whose friends are, for the most part, women, I wonder: why are women always backstabbing each other? Why are they so mean among themselves?

Why, when a guy likes a girl, his male friends help him and give him support, but when a girl likes a guy her female friends try to pull him away from her?

It makes no sense.

You will have to pick Zack up from the daycare tomorrow, I have to visit mother so I'll be busy, also I'll need a few things from the store...

3) hamburger meat
4) pepsi and mt. dew

so don't forget, also the Johnsons are coming over for dinner, go by the cateror's and pick up the snack trays, and some tea for Lisa you now the kind that green tea stuff, and Zack wants to know if Tommy can come over tomorrow, i think thats it, you won't forget like last time will you?

I met a wonderful chinese girl 2 years ago and she came to live with me in england, well she just cant master the language at all. Ive spent thousands on sending her to night school and do my best to help her but all she has learnt in 2 years are the words yes, no and cup of tea. Trying to communicate is a nightmare it just doesnt look like she will ever learn english and i must admit my chinese isnt very good either, but she came over here to learn the language but its just not happening, could this relationship work?

Chimney is 85 years old.We've sprayed the it with a hose to find the leaks, then caulked, sealed flashing, sealed masonry and it still leaks. I've repointed areas where concrete was loose. Found rotted concrete behind the pointed areas that I've repaired indicating that all of the concrete behind the pointing is moist white powder. The leaks just seem to redirect to new areas.

Greetings,
I'd like to see as much of a country as possible, so which country is cheaper to travel around in? I'd like to attempt surfing or at least visit the beach quite frequently, and have plenty of other sights nearby, so which city would one recommend? I'd like to avoid cold/wet weather, since there will be plenty when I come back to Chicago in Dec. and I would not mind avoiding expensive cities. Also, I'm extremely nervous about the education systems being way different from the United States' system. At which universities would I have to worry less about ruining my GPA? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks for your time!
