Probably greed and the need to maximize profits. This is what happens when you fall in love too much with a national chain -- you are liable to get burned.

I used to work in a tgi fridays- still absolutely love the food!
I think the actual key standards of service have changed? We used to have a 12 point checklist that every customer (guest) was given but i think this has been scaled down so the service isn't as good as when i worked there!!!!

Look around... what other restaurants are on the same road as TGI's? Applebees? Hooters? Logans' Run? Fire Mountain? Mountain Jack? Olive Garden? IHOP? Chilis?
There's so much competition and similarity between these restaurants that TGI Fridays is no longer unique and *the* place to eat anymore.

Plus their prices are high, and the wait staff is snooty.

Same with Ruby Tuesdays, used to be good. The best Fridays location in Memphis, they shut down and left the bad ones open. Poor management near the top it seems. Bad decisions. Probably based on market consulting firm advice. Just because you have data and a method does not mean you are right.

Everything has its time and moment and i guess TGIs is out of fashion now and people are eating at a newer more trendy place.

I went to a TGIF about two years ago, never again, the food was shite the service was shite and the bill had nothing at all to do with what we had, rubbish.

Trendy establishments come and go, im suprprised its lasted this long but how hard can it be to cook that type of food?

maybe thats why it was dead, nothing worse to put customers off from returning when a place has bad service!!

It's not in anymore. Besides, there are so many good restaurants everywhere now.
