In television debates on ethical and existential topics, you often hear religious figures ask their opponents why people should reject the religious explanation of something (e.g. "where does our universe come from?"), given that it provides a possible explanation for that thing just as a scientific theory does.
I've always thought that explaining something this way is tantamount to not explaining it all. "Because God created it or wants it" doesn't explain anything, indeed if we reasoned this way we would still be thinking that objects fall to the ground "because God makes them".
Regardless of your beliefs, do you think that a religious explanation based on faith in something that can't be proven (which could very well be true, mind you - but still cannot be proven) is in fact an explanation? Why? Thank you.

My cat is almost 4 years old. He's always been very aggressive and mean. He is constantly attacking me or anyone else that walks by. He jumps on your leg and sinks his teeth in until he draws blood. He doesn't like to be touched...if you try and pet him he attacks you. I've taken him to the vet and he suggested putting the cat down. I love my cat and don’t want to kill him. Any ideas on how to stop him for attacking us?

Comon folks... I noticed that a lot of us can be picky about our looks.... especially on the face. For some reasons I find the youthful women look much better than those who are more mature. Think of the youthful ones like Natalie Portman, Rachel Leigh Cook and the more mature like Julia Roberts, Naomi Watts, etc.

that men dont see anything wrong with wanting the women they marry to be gorgeous, keep her weight down, be in shape, clean the house, cook his meals, wash his clothes, raise the kids, give him sex when he wants it, not to nag, and be a good little wife but we are callled all sorts of names if we want a man that has money ?? Why is it that when it comes to what women want we should just be happy to have a man ?? Why cant we have our list of demands ? Why cant we look down upon men who cant provide that ?
