The manual suggests aligining the telescope with polaris and then using just the RA knob to track objects and keep then in the field of view.

Isn't this possible only if the object close to the North Celestial pole. Say for instance saturn is somewhere in the east rising and the telescope is pointing towards polaris, how can a person point towards saturn without changing the direction using the azimuth knob.

The manual says after the telescope is polar aligned there is no need to touch the azimuth direction nor the dec direction and only the RA can be changed to track objects.

I do not understand !!!!

Thanks

i have two friends who passed away recently to cancer, one panchreatic (non-smoker, non-drinker) and the other one to brain cancer. Both of them had healthy, active lifestyles, but both also coincide in having gone through sad famaily tragedies shortly before getting sick. Is there really evidence of the link between cancer and sadness or depression?

If I had $10,000 in income at the end of a year, which would be wiser to do. (1) Purchase more inventory and if so, would I have to pay taxes on that? (2) Pay taxes on the income. (3) Purchase assets?
This is based on a company in Florida which buys and resales merchandise that is shipped mostly out of state.

I've just read a question on here asking whether the actor Tim Curry is gay. Some of the answers are more than a little bit defensive along the lines of: 'Why does that matter?' It doesn't! Nobody said it did. They were just asking.

Why does it cause such a big reaction if someone even enquires as to someone's sexuality? It's only a question. Nobody said it makes them a worse person or lessens their talents or place on the planet so why do some people immediately get their heckle up? Isn't it only the same as enquiring if someone has a girlfriend or husband etc.? As in, it's none of our business but just out of curiosity.....

Oprah tells us that it is from an excess of testosterone, not a bad thing if you are with a bald man. The Dali Lama says Baldness is the path to wisdom and forgiveness, not bad either.

What do YOU think?

Politicians make promises to buy votes. The money comes from taxes. But what the government is taking in is not enough to pay for all the promises, so the government "borrows" from future taxes. The "on-books" deficit is currently about $9 trillion, but the "off-books" cost of social security and medicare is over $44 trillion.

The entire US economy is only $10 trillion a year. That means that young folks today (say, under 30) are going to have to pay higher taxes than ever - and when it comes their turn to collect on promises - there will be NOTHING left.

How do the younger folks feel about paying and extra 20%-30% of their paycheck for programs that won't ever return anything to them?

So, this week's question is pink or blue??? I know you guys probably have other fav. colors, but if you had a choice of pink or blue, what would you go for?? and I know for a fact that this is not going to turn into a boy/girl race!! lol :)

Do you feel that it is our duty to kill him? Do you think that Iraq will be better off?

I personally am against the hanging of anyone, even a tyrant; I do believe he should answer for what he has done as a human being to other human beings. I thing death by hanging is to easy, all that does is satisfy his need to become a Martyr

Ok.. take it slow. :) Dating at 37 is he-double-toothpick!!

About my new lady friend again..

I think at this point in the relationship - email only. We have exchanged information such as where we live and what we do for fun, pictures, and there is initial chemistry.

And as mentioned in the other question.. LOCATION PROBLEMS, New York to Chicago.

I don't want to rush that subject at all. As it seems like a very quick way to end a new connection if it comes up again.

So now I have to step back 20 feet. Should I just call her tonight and see how the voice and personality chemistry goes? emailing with practical strangers can be odd and I don't see where the talk can go... via email

I think ladies are better at doing the email / dating site thing.

So overall I need to brush up on how to keep email flirting exciting without investing too much into it, yet still keep the possibility open for future romance.

I have spider mites on my jade, rubber plant and african violet. I have rinsed the jade and rubber off in the shower a couple of times to try to get rid of them, but they are still infested. Do the sprays with insecticidal soap and pyrethrin actually work?
