I am 32 yrs old. I quit smoking back in April of 2006.
I was heavy then, weighted around 230, and was probably about 40-50 lbs heavy then.
Well, now..today I went to doctor, weighed in at 274 lbs. I knew I gained weight, but wasnt sure how much.
The doctor didnt really tell me much, just to watch my calorie intake, and to keep it around 2000-2200, and to exercise.
I asked what he would recomend , he said anything that raises my heart beat to 160 , and to do it 5 times a week for 30 minutes.
I asked about working out in a gym 3 times a day for like 1hr to 1 and half hours, and he said 5 times a week for 30 mins or I wouldnt be happy with my results.
I am confused, it doesnt make sense to me, I would think 3 times a week for an hour - hour and half would show major improvements, but Im not a doctor.
Im asking the experts here for maybe an explaination, or maybe some ways to do work outs to raise my heart beat .
Thanks !
