I have been given a draft card however I never registered for the draft, nor would I. I'm not sure if I was automatically registered when I registered to vote although I was 17 at the time or perhaps when I got my drivers license, I was 16 at the time, or perhaps I'm not registered at all, and the card and letter is an attempt to weasel me into registering. I unfortunately don't remember what the letter said as it was 4 months ago and I threw it away along with the other half of the card. I want to know if I have been registered. I know my chances of getting in trouble for not registering are slim but I would rather receive any punishment than support the murder of others. If I have been registered how soon do I have to become a conscientious objector?

I got to thinking about the responses. How would people respond if the cases were reversed? What if, instead of a straight Christian brother not wanting to go to his gay sister's baby shower (as sister he supported until she got pregnant), it was a gay brother who didn't want to go to his straight sister's baby shower?

How would people respond then? Would it still be, he has to hang his pride and stupid christian values on the shelf and go to a shower he doesn't support? Or, hey, good for him? Should we really force someone to accept something just because we think it's right, is that the way to do things?

Looking around online, I found that there are other babies who do this, but no suggestions about how to deal with the situation or how long it continues.

My son was sitting up unsupported at 6 months, now at 11 months I still must sit behind him because he will suddenly throw himself backwards without warning. My husband thinks we should buy him a helmet so he can play a little more independently once in a while as his attachment to me is extreme. I would not leave him in the room alone anyway, so I am fine with continuing to sit behind him... though it would be nice to be facing him so we could interact when he plays.

Has this happened with your baby? How long did it continue? Why does it happen (he catches himself when he wobbles in other situations which shows he does have regard for his safety), and when will it stop?
