I have a 2001 VW GOLF with 107,000 Miles on it, I have had it for about a year now, with no issues. But today I was trying to merge onto the freeway, the VW is a Automatic by the way, and when I went to lay into it, it reved up to about 4,000 rpm's and wouldn't go any faster it was like the rev limiter kicked in or something, then when I try going up hills now it won't downshift and when it does it does the same thing, so basically everytime I try to move a little bit faster then " slow as hell " it wont do it, I have to let up on the gas wait for it to shift into a higher gear and just wait for the car to get up to speed. Any suggestion's I am at a loss for words as to what could be the problem. PLEASE HELP!!!

I am dating this wonderful guy who cares & treats me very nice,handsome,successfull & mature for 3 months now.We r quite happy with each other & looking towards a bright future together...My mother met him 2, I told her that i am very happy with this man & that am considering this case 2 b a serious relationship.
