Funny how some people responded to my question, "Will Americans have to move to Canada to say, Merry Christmas? As a child, we sang traditional Christmas carols in school, and those children who were particularly religious, prayed before eating their lunch. We all respected it even if we didn't do it ourselves.

Christmas is a national holiday. Why is it that some well-meaning liberals think it's their duty to sterilize it and turn it into a secular holiday. I say, hate us if you want to, but leave us alone. No one is forcing you to sing "Away in a Manger". OK?

One person narrowmindedly "assumed" I didn't recognize other religions or that I was "shoving" a religion down someone's throat. That's funny because, Christmas is not celebrated by Mormons yet they aren't crying about it. It's not celebrated by Jewish people yet they respect our right to celebrate it. My athiest friends respect our tradition too.
Liberals, please get a clue.

Hey, looking for quick help here. My step-mother's father passed away last night. I live in Texas, they live in Indiana - should I attempt to attend the funeral? Would it be a major faux pas for me not to attend, and simply send a sympathy card?

I just returned to Texas from Indiana after Thanksgiving. I knew her father, but not really well - he's been in a home for years. My kids look at my step-Mom as a Grandma, and her Mother as a Grandmother figure - she loves my kids, and my kids love her.

What should I do? Should I go up there? Or, should I just send sympathy?

Any help is appreciated. I'm torn here!

I'm trying to figure out how Duck Hunt knows where you aim when you fire the lightgun. I recall being younger and holding the gun to the tv and shooting the ducks/clay directly and the screen would flash where I shot. How does the game know where you aim?

Could Buster elevate to the level he achieved that night in Tokyo?

Would Hagler allow Ray Leonard to "steal" another victory from him?

Would Ken Buchanan revenge his defeat at the hands of Roberto Duran? Their first encounter ended in a heated controversy and showed Duran could be one "dirty" fighter.

Everything we "think", "feel", "see" or otherwise experience are created by and transmitted via chemical reactions, you know, neurotransmitter, hormones and what not. Chemicals. The neurons don't spit out Holy Spirit water or soul juice or anything like that.

Why is it such a stretch to say that once these chemical reactions stop we stop?

Is it because there is something about souls and spirit juice in a book written before people knew about hormones and neurotransmitters?
