There is a site called the www. luggageguy.com the prices are good and they have an assortment of styles. American Tourister is a great brand also and not as expensive as Tumi. (since your not trying to show off your luggage)

Try a company called "Purdy Neat Stuff". They make excellent luggage - Not the prettiest out there but definitley durable. I was a flight attendant and it was recommended by the airline when I started flying. I have used this luggage for 8 years, travelling almost every day, with no problems. However, it is not cheap!
It's usually only available online or in aviation stores. Try www.stopoverstore.com or www.luggageworksonline.com

You can buy a combination lock or a keyed lock, whichever is your preference, but when you pick it out, make sure it has a "TSA Approved" logo or sticker on it. This means the TSA has a master key to that lock, and can open it without damaging it, if your bags require extra security screening. That said, it's a better idea to just not put anything of value in your bag. Nobody wants to steal your sneakers and jeans. They'd be after your laptop, iPod, camera, cash and stuff like that. And the lock is not going to stop someone who is hell-bent on taking your electronics. They'll just cut the lock anyway, or cut through the canvas on a soft-sided bag. Keep your valuables with you and don't worry about the lock, and you'll be just fine (except if you travel to certain foreign countries where drug runners often put drugs into the bags of unsuspecting passengers, in which case, I'd never ever check a bag).

I'd go Tumi or the Swiss Army line. Tumi has a great lifetime warranty -- they replaced a broken handle on a very over-used suitcase for us, for free. We didn't even have to ship it -- we just took the suitcase to an authorized dealer.
