My husband and I just bought our home in February and now we want to sell it. We bought the home for $120,000 and owe $113,000. We have added a $5000 privacy fence and a $2000 storage building not to mention the cosmetic repairs we've made to the house. We don't care to make anything off the house, we just want to sell it for what we have in it, maybe a little less. (It appraised for $137,000 before we did all of this work to it. (I don't know if that matters.) We live just outside of Myrtle Beach and we hate it here, we just want out. My question is, If we stay in the house for one year, what percentage of Capital Gains will we have to pay? We make under $40,000 a year. Will we have to pay tax on anything over $120,000 (our purchase price) or $127,000 (what we will actually have in it.)? We are willing to stay here until we've lived here a full year, but no longer.

OK I don't know how to feel any more. I have two kids both boys. Ones ten and the other is seven. They both have differint mothers and I have custudy with the ten year old. I just seperated with my most recent babys mother and we are moving on with our lives with out each other. But when I have both my kids together I start thinking to my self why can't I manage to have my famaily stick together?I have a new girl in my life but it feels like nothings certin in a relationship. It feels like after a certin time in a relationship every body wants to go their seprete ways after a while. I mean I see my parents and my sis and her man staying together and look happy. How can I have a lady stay with me till the end and not worry that shes going to leave me? How am I suposed to feel and trust any body anymore? I just feel so down casted and don't feel motivated to have a new relationship cuss I feel it's going to end up the same way. I'm just not looking forword to the pain agian. Please help.

When people get drunk, they lose their inhibitions. Some drunks are "goofy drunks", while others wanna fight with the first person that they see. Basically, their true colors shine through. I've noticed the same thing for older people. Throughout life, we develop various inhibitions which are deemed appropriate for social interactions and being in public in general. However, a lot of older people seem to lose those inhibitions. So many older people are mean, while others are really nice. In general, many elderly people say whatever they feel like saying without considering the consequences. Others drive recklessly (which is not to be mistaken for vision problems). Sometimes we are so quick to forgive and overlook the behavior of older people because "They're old ... they can't help it.", but I'm beginning to think that the way that these people were really bad all along, and now it's just more apparent. What are your thoughts on this subject?

I don't want anyone to mess their lives up because I've challenged them to an ego duel to prove their beliefs by not saving for retirement. I think one responder said it best that although they believe we're in the last days, the time period is up to God - so it would be arrogant to listen to our own ego and not prepare for ourselves and our kids with 401Ks.
