A ball of mass "m" moving with velocity "v-initial" strikes a vertical wall. The angle between the ball's initial velocity vector and the wall is "theta-initial", which depicts the situation as seen from above. The duration of the collision between the ball and the wall is "delta-t", and this collision is completely elastic. Friction is negligible, so the ball does not start spinning. In this idealized collision, the force exerted on the ball by the wall is parallel to the x axis.

What is the final angle "theta-final" that the ball's velocity vector makes with the negative y axis? Express your answer in terms of quantities given in the problem introduction.

I have a friend that recently got married and her husband has not told his mother, or his ex, that he is married. The ex has called and text her now husband and she is worried. She has asked me for help and all I could tell her is that the next time he goes home to visit, to insist on going with him! Wouldn't he have to introduce her as his wife?? Wouldn't this let his ex know that now he is married and she needs to back off?? Plz help me to inform her right on what she needs to do!!!

“Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”

And saving the best for last, as explained by Cliff Clavin, of Cheers.

One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm.

Here’s how it went:

“Well ya see, Norm, it’s like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That’s why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

WARNING: The consumption of alcohol may make you think you are whispering when you are not.

And sometimes beyond our own capabilities as adults?

I am recalling here three examples relating to my son (now an adult himself) from many years ago:

Example #1: With my own eyes and ears I saw this interaction between my son and his mother. I was in one room of our home with my wife while our son was playing in another room on the far side of the house. My wife out of the blue turned to me and said something like, "Watch what happens when I call [son's name] mentally." Without uttering a sound she just thought his name silently. Within seconds our son came running toward us calling out, "What do you want, Mom?" Unfortunately I never found out if they had ever done anything similar before or ever did again.

I'm an American living in Singapore on business and adopted a kitten since I've moved here and I'm not that confident in the vets here (everyone in this country hates cats, one of the highest rates of cats abuse - poor things) but the vet used a solution to clean the cats ears and gave me some hydrogen peroxide with hibitane to use to clean her ears at home. Does anyone know if this is safe - according to some searches I did on the net - some sites say it's good and some say it's not. Any experience with this??
