I seriously love movies/books that end in a way that makes me cry... but on the other hand i really hate it as well because... well i makes me cry and wonder, "Why did this have to happen?" Also i hate it when it ends and makes you think that their is going to be a part 2 and gets your hopes all the way up... thens huts it down when you know their isn't going to be a part 2.
I do want to see more of the bad guys win type of endings you know, just to add something diefferent to every ending.
In my case i don't really care how it ends as long as its a good ending wether its good guys win or lose, someone falls in love with someone dies, and so on. As long as its good and well written im cool.

I hate it when books or movies end with a twist propagated by a new character introduced 5 seconds before the plot ends.
I also dislike when authors use the same techniques in their books but only the plot is different. It gets boring, even when the author is quite talented.
I love being genuinely surprised by an ending--the smoking guns I missed, the obviousness I didn't pick up on. Of course, it makes reading a second time less than exciting, but I love the thrills.

I hate it when you have all these incredibly awesome parts in the movie/book and then the ending is just sort of cut short - not in the sense that another book/movie is to follow; but all through the film/novel, the story is stronger and stronger and you really get hooked, and then for some odd reason, the director/writer just decides to end the novel so fast that you have to go back and reread/rewatch it to see if you've missed anything because the ending isn't fulfulling, you know?

Cheesy happy endings. Yeah, happy endings are good sometimes, but why not have a sad ending?
I know it's sort of an American thing to have happy endings... and since we have such a big influence on the movie world, there's not much to be done.
But I tend to watch foreign films. It seems the happy endings aren't over-done, and the sad endings are what is right for the movie.

I don't like too many loose ends....I mean I don't mind an ending where there are a one or two things you have to infer but I don't like movies when I have a slew of questions afterwards.....for example, The Departed...great flick but I have too many questions that the movie and actors do not answer....
I like stories....no matter what the ending....I like realism and hate romance novels....I love fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, mystery and coming of age....someone famous once said all stories have one of two themes....leaving home or coming home....very true.

I hate the ending of books and movies the most when someone has already told me the ending beforehand.

I loved the movie the break-up, but I hated the ending because they should have gotten back together. But I guess that is why they called it 'The Break-Up.'
Those kinds of movies.

The all-time, number one movie ending is in "The Usual Suspects". Unbelievable--if you haven't seen it, it is the most unexpected, twistie ending, but it really does sum everything up, and it is amazingly well acted.
