Are there any living english teachers left in the United States?

After reading through some of these questions I'm beginning to doubt the presence of any sort of structured teaching of spelling and grammar in this country.

Do me hate or love intelligent women?

I feel that my sister's husband gives her a hard time because she has a PHD. He has a high school diploma and often wishes he could go back. She supported him through 3 and half years of college but he quit after 2 F's and refused to gor back to school. She states that the amount of education a person has doesn't matter, but I feel that his issues stem from the fact that she makes a130 thousand per year and he makes 40 thousand. She is the superintendent of a small school district and he is the manager of a restaurant. He constantly makes jokes about it. How can I get my sister to see that the difference is killing his self esteem? She is crazy about him and truly does not care about the amount of education he does not have!!!!

help!my 4 months old kittens are having diarrhoea?

when i 1st got them i gave the iams and they were fine.Then my friend asked me to switch to science plans and i switched and still they were fine then the vet vaccinated them for boarding house purpose and after i got them from the boarding house they started to have diarrhoea.At first it was only one cat,now both of them are having it.Is it because i change the food back to iams?

I want to buy my girlfriend a an acoustic guitar and i'm not entirely sure which.?

She is a singer songwriter and currently plays a Tanglewood (not sure which model) - I play a Taylor 914 ce. I have never played her guitar, she seems to like it - however recently the guitar was damaged and needs to be replaced. I would get her a Taylor personally, but I'm not sure how different a feel it has to the Tanglewood. Should I be boring and buy her the same model she had- or try something new...? Open to suggestions, baby taylors, martins, whatever.... tks
