Did they teach you one thing that sticks in your mind that has made a difference in your life? My grandmother taught me to always do the best and compete with myself and not others, as someone will always be better, smarter, prettier. She told me to strive to do better everyday of my life, more than I did the day before. She told me that if I do the very, very best I can do, that was all that mattered. Not what others did in comparison to me. What teaching do you attribute to your parents?

i know nutmeg and allspice are completely different, but i'm malking a pumpkin gooey butter cake, and it called for nutmeg and cinnamon. i'm out of nutmeg, so i used allspice and cinnamonso it would still have a spicy flavor... was that a mistake?

The principle of contradiction, the law of non-contradiction, states that: "something cannot both BE and NOT BE at the same time, in the same way, and in the same respect" That is, "A is not = to not A." Can this principle of logic be violated? Can something be both true and false at the same time and in the same sense, i.e. having the same meaning?

If so, HOW..Please DEMONSTRATE.


Demonstrate your answer by a CONCRETE EXAMPLE, e.g. "The principle can be violated in this situation.....ergo leading to the conclusion that this both IS and IS NOT in the same exact sense and way. (NOTE: A lot of things can be and not be , but NOT in the same way, e.g. A cup may be both white and not white, but not in the same way and in the same respect, i.e. the cup may have a white base but a blue handle.

I know this girl who i also used to like, but now it's getting clear to me that i'm only good for favors, to give her my attention. She doesn't call me like before just to say hi, but she accuses me of being the one who doesn't call and i used to do it often. She doesn't chat that often with me anymore either but when she does she said something like you owe me a treat and stuff like that. So i got annoyed and it was her birthday and i didn't say a word about it and she comes acting all sad because i didn't remember. After that we didn't talk anymore not even chatting. I think it was a good thing to get her of my back, what do you guys think ? Or should i apologize or something ? (which i might never do LOL)

I'd really love to know where the misconception came from that military spouses are uneducated, lazy, stay-at-home moms? It really drives me mad. As a highly educated (master's degree) military spouse, it pains me to think that we(spouses) are looked at as ignorant. I may be a stay-at-home mom right now (my son is 3) but that certainly doesn't make me lazy. Any thoughts from other military spouses out there?

My Mom passed away a few months ago and my father already remarried. I recieved a letter from my dad asking me to sign ownership of a life insurance policy my Mom had to him. If I don't he said he will probate the will. My dad has given his new wife all of my Moms' jewlry and my siblings and I nothing. Now he comes up with this. Do I have to sign? If he probates it will he win? I have never even seen my Moms will - should I ask for a copy? The woman he married is wanting him to now leave her everything when he dies. My Mom wanted everything split equally between the kids before she died and I am sure she never thought my dad would remarry 4 months after her death and after 49 years of marriage. My Dad is also very ill. Does anyone have any answers or advise? I could really use some feed back.
