Had a problem with my sons old PC, running windows ME. The system.ini file is corrupt.
Mouse doesnt work, except in safe mode. I cannot change the display settings and the latest development is that it will not boot into normal mode at all, only safe mode.
I have been told the only thing that I can do is to re-install windows me, but it came without any OS disc or recovery disc.
so, do I really need to re-install or does anyone have any other useful suggestions
The PC has quite a lot of student work on it, as well as genealogical data.

also, where do you get windows discs from. I am only looking for 98/ME/2000 - and i cant find them for sale anywhere

This is a tom cat ( i have a female spayed aged 7 ) he is about ten yrs old, this blasted cat keeps coming in, eating all my cats food and biscuits and wanders around the house ! This has been going on for months...I have caught it a number of times when it has taken a chance thinking i wasnt in or a 2,3,4 in the morning! We have now had to put a case of beer in front of the cat flap at night and lock our cat in, as it breaks through a locked cat flap, i have laid traps where i have very heavily laced cat food with chilli ..and yep it's eaten it, and still it comes back !! My cat will only go out at night to have a wee if one of us in the the garden, then she runs back in, she is really nervous of this cat. We have had her to the vets three times to sort out injuries after he has pounced on her. Can someone help..advice... hubby is suggesting we lay in wait for it one night then take it on a long journey away from our house !

I adopted my male chihuahua, Ralfi, in late July. He's old enough to wear a collar, but he keeps chewing them up. I really need to find a comfortable collar that is harder for him to chew on.

Can anyone please recommend a really good chocolate fountain that doesn't cost a fortune (and where's it from?). I'd like to get one for Christmas, but reckon a rubbish one could be worse than not getting one at all..... Alternatively, if yours is a popular model but it's c**p, please tell me! Thanks x

I had a dream last night that a small crocodile ate nearly every human being and creature on earth in a terrifying 15 minutes. The thing must have been travelling at about 3,000mph as I remember seeing it whizzing about in the distance eating everything in its path. About five people including me escaped just in time, along with a few lion cubs, some tiger cubs, and a chimpanzee. We all took refuge in a random house somewhere, and had to lock all the windows and doors to stop the crocodile from getting in. The following morning the postman delivered a letter (not quite sure how he was still alive) from another small group of survivors living in a house nearby. Then I woke up.

I'm struggling to decipher the meaning of this dream which, it has to be said, is rather bizarre. Can anyone help?

A co-worker told me that sexual abuse has many defenitions and that an employer cussing at an employee can also be considered sexual abuse, even though it has nothing to do with sex.

Are there laws that protect an employee from verbal abuse? Like their boss yelling and cussing at them.

I know each state is probably a little different. I am in Texas.
MY boss yells and cusses at me on a regular basis. I put up with it, hoping he will change and also because I live in such a rural area, I would have to change my daughters childcare if I were to go to a different city to work in this same field, and she has a great babysitter and I don't want to remove her from there.

We've not had power for 5 days now, due to trees falling on electrical wires during an early snowstorm. What fun!
What do you do when the power goes out? How do you keep busy?

So many things we take for granted, are electric..so it seems that there isn't much to do...
i know, I know...we can play board games by candlelite!
But ...When your power goes out, what do you miss the most?

I have to fly to Tokyo in the morrow, and I bloody well have to check in here in Bangkok at 4:50am?!? Even the birds aren't up yet....who decided we all have to be kit packed & ready for inspection at this un-Godly time of the day? Wouldn't a nice 'lie-in' reduce the jet lag that I never suffer eaisly? Does the pilot wake up in the small hours and inform the wife 'now is a good time to fly'??? Come on...this ain't cricket (fair play).

Did market research dictate this as a positive move, or is there something here that is beyond my perspective?

I'd like to know!
