Ok. Any ultrasound gurus out there. This Q is out of my realm. I am looking at a pipe weld with a solid cap that has a penetration of 1 mm in dept in the parent metal. I'm using a UT tester that is checking the lack of pen. The block that has a transducer in it that I'm using is perp. to the weld. How is the UT transducer looking at the joint ? Is it sounding at a Vert. or Hort.or cone, type picture, all I have is what we call a gate, If I see a spike thru the gate I have a flaw. I understand the theory of sound and echos. I have seen some surface features that has caused some false spikes or voids

If you would be kind enough to share your experience, I will be
very grateful. Three of my friends have confided that they have,
in the past, sought professional help for their various emotional
problems. Two of them claim that it was a waste of their time.
The third (who also was prescribed some very financially draining
medications) says that "talking out" her problems made her feel
better, but couldn't explain what, specifically, her doctor had done
to help her - besides listening, that is.
Currently, I am facing a dilemma. A family member (I care about
very much) is refusing to continue the therapy (and meds) she has
been recieving (actually, just tolerating) for over two years now.
Her mental health care providers disagree with her decision - and
frankly, I can't provide any good reasons for her to go on with her
treatment. So far, she really doesn't seem much improved. Please
help, if you can. My experience with this type of thing is limited.

Here's the question:
assume x^2+3x+2=0
this factors to
(x+2)(x+1)=0

Now divide both sides by
(x+2)(X+1),
and you get

((x+2)(X+1))/((x+2)(X+1))=0/((x+2)(X+1))
For the left side, you get (x+2)(X+1) over itself, which is one, while for the right, since you are dividing 0, you get zero. This leaves you with:
1=0, which is obviously not right, where is the mistake in this problem?

I began working at a fine dining restaurant approximately 2 weeks ago...gradually things would change as time went on...first, the original manager who hired me left after a couple of days. Another manager comes in to fill in form NYC, seems okay..tells me did they tell you that you will be a back waiter for the first week? I said no, but thought what the heck, I'll make some money. So, I work a double on a Friday, bust my rear end, MGR from NYC says you worked hard..but I don't get tipped? Then I learn you must work 3 days before you get tipped..hmmmm, I had allready done that. Then, I go in to work today, some 2 weeks hence..and the new GM, said let's talk...mind you, I hadn't worked wtih him yet...only saw him observer a few days back..looking bored...and looked at me funning when I said hello. He basically proceeds to tell me that I don't fit in here....Well, yes I guess I don't, because I'm intellegent, clean cut, well groomed, and speak English..Totally unfair..any recorse?

i already asked this but it accidently got deleted.
ok this girl..shes shy, and pretty, but not every guy is drooling over her. she plays tennis alot and shes very good. i asked her to prom and her eyes lit up like a christmas tree. she said yes, but she couldnt go b/c she had a tennis tourney. i asked her out a couple times, but she always had tennis. i even did a couple of things i thought she might think were cute &creative..i gave her a tennis ball with a message written on it.
im at college now, and shes a senior back at my hometown high school..but i still think about her. communication is limited, she has no cell phone, and i only have her sn/email which she never goes on. it feels like this situation is unfinished. any other girl and id move on, but this one is special..ive never met anyone like her before.
so, why do i still think about her? and is this something worth pursuing (i might see her next weekend when i go home), or better to try to forget about it? thanks

hello im looking for anecdotes and stories (the more detailed the better) about females who have pulled a risky stunt involving heights, for fun (I don't want to hear stories of suicidal people and stuff). Not interested in cliffs and natural heights tho, only rooftops, balconies and other such urban heights.

For example, are you or do you know, a female who has climbed a railing on a high-rise rooftop, sat on the very edge with legs dangling off, stood on a ledge or railing, etc. Please give the story with some details about how high it was, whether it was a completely straight drop down, and why she did it, and how she acted during it and such.

This is research for a paper, so please assist as much as possible. Thanks!
