No. There may be a sexual connotation in the minds of some people, but the most common usage of afterglow is in the term "basking in the afterglow," meaning taking time to appreciate or simply remembering a meaningful event, often an event that is a source of pride or accomplishment.

I, personally, have never thought of the term "afterglow" as permanently linked to sex. I guess if you just had really great sex, you could bask in the afterglow of your accomplishments.

I checked dictionary.com, Merriam-Webster online, my dictionaries, Wikipedia, and brittanica.com, and none mentioned anything sexual associated with the term. However, if you do a Yahoo search, a lot of sexual enhancement products use the phrase "afterglow" in their brand names.

Afterglow is an atmospheric phenomenon.

In the drug community, afterglow is a term used to describe positive physical and/or mental effects that linger after the effects of a drug have worn off, or after the peak experience has subsided. Common manifestations involve feelings of detatchedness or increased psychological clarity. The term is most commonly associated with the consumption of hallucinogens (particularly tryptamines) and dissociatives. This phenomenon is in marked contrast to the negative after-effects experienced by users of other psychoactive substances (see hangovers).

Afterglow is also the look of face after just having sex.

Afterglow is the look on someone's face after just having sex. The look is a dead giveaway that the person has just had sex.
