Sometimes it seems so easy for people that could "care less" and are only aware of things that affect themselves. Never noticing those that stand in the background holding up the world for all of the others.......that don't bother to try.

Would it be easier to be the non caring type?

Or will life ultimately be easier for the one that bares the burdens?

my php search program returns results in a list format, displaying the name and description of the rows that match the search string. Instead of displaying the ENTIRE description on the results page, I want to display the first line or so of the description.

Example:
What happens right now:

Search Results:

1 John Doe - John Doe is an outstanding man. Having a very generic name, he is well know and blah blah blah blah blah.
2. Jane Doe - Jane doe is an outstanding woman. Having a very generic name, she is well suited for her husband John.

What I'm trying to make happen:

Search Results:

1. John Doe - John Doe is an outstanding man.....
2. Jane Doe - Jane Doe is an outstanding wom.....

My son has had a lump in his neck for 7 months now. Ive taken him to the doctors about 6 times he says there is nothing to worry about. My son has also been losing weight and is tired all the time and sweats alot at night. He suffers from adhd so is always on the go and used to have little sleep and was on medication to help him to sleep. Now he is going to sleep striaght away after school and doesnt need his medication and also going to sleep at school as well. His school have commented how calm and relaxed he since he gone back to school and that it too much of a change. He has just had a blood test and it came back that he is slighty anemic. My gp says everything is fine but im not sure should i ask for a second opinion and ask for an appointment to see what the lump is at the hospital

a. The height of a tree is 15 m correct to the nearest metre.
Write down the range in which the height of the tree lies.

b. The weight of a pill is 0.14g correct to 2 d.p. Find the range in which the actual weight lies.

c. The length of each side of a square is 2.8m correct to 1 d.p. i)Calculate the largest and smallest possible lenghth of each side.
ii) Using 's' metres for the side, write the range of values in which the actual length 's' must lie.

d. It is stated that the number of books in a box is 300 to the nearest 10. Find the max. and min. number of books.

Can you also please show some sort of working so I can understand if they are wrong.

a. I don't understand "nearest metre" how much IS that?
b. Lower bound= 0.135
Upper bound= 0.145
therefore class interval is 0.135 is less than or equal to 0.14 is less than 0.145.
c. Lower bound= 2.795
Upper bound= 2.805
ii. therefore 2.795 is less than or equal to "s" is less than 2.80
