I flipped a coin 2 times in a row. Both times it landed on tails. If science was correct, it would have had to land on heads one time, and tails the other (50/50).
And I get this feeling inside me sometimes, and I know it is him. Besides, I lost my dog yesterday, and then something told me to turn around. There he was. That had to be god.

LOL / WTF. This is what people are answering with. Everyone is talking about this feeling in them. Well geeeze. That must be god......or it's acid reflux. I can't believe this stuff. Can you imagine if we lived in a world where "a feeling I have" was actually accepted as proof in the scientific world.....oh..that was medieval Europe under religious rule.

A deep, innate sense of purpose and awareness that I am more than just a biological organism-that I'm a spiritual being who happens to be in a material body. That conviction is so real to me that I would be genuinely surprised if it were wrong. I've looked at the question from all angles, logic, reason, emotion, and the conclusion I've arrived at is that there probably is some higher spiritual power in the universe and I suppose I might label it God for want of a better word.

I assume your question is what makes one believe in God. Not to be corrective in anyway. The simple answer is the fear of God. Or, that is, the fear of what awaits us after death. And the belief that we are here for some purpose, some God given propose.
Religion in general gives people rules to live by and hope that they are seen as righteous. Personally I believe in God because I know this life didn't just happen. A supreme being is there. Don't know if he/she is Muslim, Christian, or Jew but I don't think it matters much. And it is funny how most people really get religion on their death bed, even though they denounced it in their lives.
And I always wondered about people that have murdered others. What pain they must have not knowing what is there for them and no way to change what they did.

When I was about 11 years old, my friend and his mother were murdered by his step-father. I think of the step-father often, even today, wondering if he is still alive and what he thinks about what he did. That happened in about 1959. I never followed his case or sought to find out. I didn't even know his name. But then most people that end up in prison find God. Because the fear of the unknown is the strongest fear there is.

For me it was total obedience and trust...then the belief came.

I know that sounds backwards but when you come to the end of your rope and you don't know where else to turn, that's when most people turn to God.

Then they wish they had done that a long time before. At least that's how it was for me.

My parents believe in God. Sometimes just watching other humans makes me believe. But mostly its just a feeling deep down inside somewhere.

looking outside my window seeing all the glories of nature in the sky and on the earth. no one sees the wind yet everyone sees the results of the wind. therefore no one doubts the wind exists. so it is with GOD. there are examples of HIS work for all to see and therefore GOD exists whether we actually see HIM or not.

God is real, and He allowed His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus loved us so much, it hurt.
Fortunately He was tougher than nails.
