This really is a great question- I myself have pondered and questioned whether or not people who don't care have lives which are easier and I've come to the conclusion that they really don't. Since they "care less" about others, about their future, about goals, about the way they affect others with their attitudes, and so forth, they are- in essence- trading the burdens of "caring" and "effort" for a greater, much heavier burden- the burden of not understanding what it's like to be truly happy.
The sad thing about these people is that they are not necessarily bad people, it's just that they don't realize how worth it it all is to make these effort to accomplish a greater understanding of how beautiful life really is- that to make these efforts and take on these burdens, as cumbersome and precarious as they will be at times, really do pay off in the end. Even if the results are not favorable, there is always something to learn from it- some element of wisdom from which to benefit- if nothing else.
Sure it may seem easier at first glance. To not notice. To not care. To not even try. But to not know or feel how you've contributed to uplifting, enriching, or easing burdens of others or even your own self? How you've touched the lives of others? To not be able to speak positively of the inner piece this brings? That sounds to me, ultimately like a much more difficult life!

It's easier to be the non-caring type...
But that shouldn't be the question.
The real question should be... which type is better.
And the answer to that is that it's much better to be the one that bears the burdens. The reason for this being that you are maintaing global stability in the sense. You are responsible for keeping sanity and goodness in the world. And that's beyond important. Those that don't care do nothing except live for themselves. And of course that's easier because you're not affected personally by anything. But those that are affected are driven to make the world a better place. They want to make the world a better place.
Wow... i'm rambling. But what can i say when i didn't sleep all night and it's 6:06 AM?

I don't really think life is any easier for the people who could "care less." Being so wrapped up in themselves causes them more pain then they are probably aware of. It's been my experience that the people who "care less" are also the people that complain about life the most. Everyone is against them, nothing ever goes right, whine, whine and more whine. If they could only grasp the concept of caring for others, and realize that no matter how cliched it sounds, that giving is better than receiving, their lives would be so much richer and blessed.
So keep on caring...we need more of that around this place called life.

We are constantly bombarded with information in the form of rather sensational news programming that we can do absolutely nothing about and affects us not at all.
When people talk about the simpler times, the "good ol' days" it is largely because they were not aware of all the details of everything that goes on halfway across the country or halfway across the world.
I think you should try and affect things for the better in the areas where you can make a difference, and leave the rest to those it affects. If that puts me in the category of could "care less" I can live with it.

I used to work my butt off for my employer. I would try to do a little more each day, I would always do my best, I would worry about not doing enough. We used to get large bonuses based on the profits, we used to have a decent pension plan, they used to treat us like human beings, but all this has changed. Teeny tiny "bonus" if any, pension "freeze" ( I will lose thousands of dollars per year) , and they act like anybody not on their "friends and family" list is just like what you would find on the bottom of your shoe at a dog park. Hard workers are told to do more, but the stupid lazy ones don't have to do much because nobody expects them to. The laziest are promoted to supervisor so a good worker won't have to be replaced. Now I don't even try to work hard. If there is a problem I don't solve it, I leave it up to the geniuses in charge. Since I learned to stop caring I feel a whole lot better. If the work isn't done, there is always tomorrow. If I do half the work that I used to that just means that they paid me twice as much for each part I made. Is this a terrible attitude? If it is, so what! I just don't care. They don't pay me to care, they just pay me for every hour that I'm there whether I do anything or not.

You have to care. If people didn't care then charities would never thrive. Some of the most rewarding and satisfying things that happen in my life have been a result of me caring about our world and the people who live in it. Little things in life, like giving up your seat on a bus to and elderly person, can really brighten up the day.
The problem I think is we tend to care too much about what other people thing and do. We try too hard to live out what we think our friends, family, society expect from us that we get lost somewhere. Over time we may get frustrated and lash out when, for example, someone else cuts us off on the highway.
Maybe some of those people who seem to not "care less" just gave up. And maybe it is easier for them in a sense, but you also have to ask yourself as what cost? Wasn't it my man Will Shakespeare who said: "It's better to love and to have lost than to have never loved at all"?
I believe it's better to live life the best that you can, and you can only do that if you care, than to just go through the motions of living life.

If you did not care you would be part of the problem we have now in this world, and you would not be asking this question. That IS the problem, people do not care and if you bow down to their way of thinking you become like they are. Stand up for yourself and be counted as a caring human being and MAKE your part of the world a better place. Go for it. If they do not want to be in your part of life where they can make a difference, you are better off without them. You will find others who care, just have to look harder. Do not go out of your way to do so, they will come to you when they see how you handle things in life. Hope this answers your question.

People who care less, lead very shallow existences I believe. Nobody truly enjoys their company or even trusts them because they know that they don't care. LIFE is what you make it. What doesn't kill us will make us stronger. I would much rather be one who cares. If you can make a difference in only one person's life, that can make all the difference in the world. You may not be able to see the differences that you make in society or others lives but I'm sure that you do. Stay the way you are. There are enough uncaring a**holes in this world as it is.

of direction you think of that we are unhappy and we only don't understand it. yet why do you think of it is the question. Did you carry out study, or only wager? in actuality, all of those would be held to a similar standards. you think of, yet haven't any stable reason to think of so. the only reason you will possibly have is "i'm happy, and that i'm not an atheist, as a result atheists are actually not happy," which isn't logical. besides, i'm lots happier without faith than i became with it. i exploit to get under pressure daily with faith. Now i don't.

hmmm i think that would make life easier for the person itself...but if you dont really care about the world ...you would almost become cold...if someone doesnt feel anything looking at a suffering child...how would he feel something for the ones they love...and i rather be with people who care about the world then just them selves...sure life wouldnt be so easy....more tough i would say...but thats how life is suppose to be isnt it...we're here to give and do the best we can...and that would only come once we starting caring!!
