Hi, folks. I was just discussing evolution with a very intelligent Creationist over on the Religion and Spirituality board & then through private emails and s/he made me really examine my belief in evolution. So I'm coming to learn a bit more about what I profess to believe.

Is the primary driving force behind macroevolution mutations? And in primates, since we only give birth to one every 9 months per fertile female, the mutation would have to be either dominant - and thus, wouldn't it eventually eclipse the non-mutated creature, or there would have to be a mass mutation with a sudden spike in births with the mutation, right? Can that - in primates that produce offspring so slowly - actually result in divergent evolution?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question. Please put it in terms that an English major will understand! Thanks!

I went out earlier with some mates, I went to a coffee shop and they offered me a sugary cake, and I said no.. so instead I had a tapa (very small portion) of pork and tomato sauce, I drink 1,5 litres of water a day and take vitamins, I dont eat unhealthy foods except for once a week and I go for a brisk walk everyday for 20 minutes, have i ruined my diet by eatinga very small portion of PORK??

I am at the end of my pregnancy and I took some castor oil. I was so happy because I started having labor pains and they were coming every 3 minutes the doctor told me to go in. My cervix was thick as hell and I hadn't dilated. I stayed at the hospital for 3 hours and nothing happened. They gave me IV fluids for dehydration. My contractions continued but stopped this morning. I guess I can't get him here. No other suggestions. I am so uncomfortable

i opened up the hard drive and it was blank everything was gone even the secure and compress folder that was on the hard drive when i got it was gone i only got the damn thing 2 days ago and i put a lot of files on it is there any way of getting the files back?

it a 250gb freecom classic sl external hard drive .
i went into start/my computer then i right clicked and then properties and went into tools and tried the error checking but nothing happens and it wont let me defregment it is there a tool that i can download that will restore everything i have lost
