I went out earlier with some mates, I went to a coffee shop and they offered me a sugary cake, and I said no.. so instead I had a tapa (very small portion) of pork and tomato sauce, I drink 1,5 litres of water a day and take vitamins, I dont eat unhealthy foods except for once a week and I go for a brisk walk everyday for 20 minutes, have i ruined my diet by eatinga very small portion of PORK??

I have read your questions before on here. You are a bit obsessed with dieting. Maybe you shouldn't worry about EVERY morsel of food!

No, if you will simply take your diet regimen and enjoy a LITTLE of what you like, just keep your calorie count for the week, rather than for the day, and you should be fine. Besides, who said pork is an unhealthy food? God told Peter to kill and eat a pig in his dream. Peter refused by asking God if it was okay. God replied with the answer, "What I have placed before you shall NOT be called unclean." So no, you haven't ruined your diet by eating a small portion of pork. Worrying about it is by far worse than just getting back on track and going forward. Looking back will make you trip on what you don't see in your path...;)

To be honest, I don't believe in following a "diet" as such.

I'd say that as long as you cut down on the unhealthier foods (NOT cut out) and eat more healthier foods then you will lose weight and shape up more naturally.

I find that I'm happier to adapt my eating habits than change them all together and if you're happier then its easier to slim. When I crave chocolate for instance I give myself some to satisfy my craving because otherwise the craving grows and I end up gorging myself on bars of chocolate and still feel dissatisfied and disappointed in myself once i'm done.

The key to dieting - in my opinion - is to allow yourself to eat anything you want, with certain controls and restrictions in place. That way you'll be more content with the things you are eating and more content within yourself. I also try not to become obsessed with every mouthfull that passes my lips - it can wear you down!

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that when you are happy your body releases endorphins and these in turn help to burn additional calories. This may be rubbish but I tell myself this to encourage my healthy eating.

Don't worry that you've "ruined" your diet by eating pork! I eat everything I enjoy in moderation and am happily losing weight, all be it slowly!!

Good Luck!

There is no such thing as ruining your diet.
If you feel guilty at any point in time because of something you ate, simply cut back that same amount of calories in the next meal that you have. That way, you would have balanced it out, wouldn't you?

And one important thing in dieting is that you shouldn't restrict you diet by completely cutting out all your naughty foods.
Treat yourself once in a while so that you won't end up binging in the end..
Trust me, i made that mistake of going on a diet which was too strict and i ended up binging, and that made all my efforts go down the drain..

Not at all, you sound like a very healthy person and a small treat now and again won't ruin your diet, after all you have to live. Ease up on yourself and well done for saying no to the cake!

why in this society must it always be all or nothing? we are imperfect beings, and must learn to forgive ourselves.

the wonderful thing about dieting is that nothing is irreversible. it isnt like recovering from a drug addiction, where one slip up could mean having to start all over.

if you mess up on your diet, you simply go back to what you know you should be doing the next day. isn't that great?

It sounds like you are on the right track with your diet, doing the right things, especially the water. cut yourself some slack, sweetie! you made a little "boo boo",, get over it and move on, , , you are BEAUTIFUL!!

Of course you haven't! Pork is not necessarily bad for you, unless it is drenched in fat!

Anytime you think you mess up on your diet, just start new with your next meal. No one is perfect!!

Not unless you are Jewish. Why are you denying yourself the pleasure of tasty foods. I doubt you will live a day longer, but with the diet it will seem forever.
