I have heard that when you form your mucus plug at the beginning of pregnancy you can have a snot like discharge. Will you still have this discharge once a month even if you are not pregnant?

I am in a 9th and 10th grade class right now. The girl that sits next to me is in 10th grade and is taller than me, and I am a really young 9th grader, but I think that she might like me. We talk to each other every day, and we both feel really comfortable around each other. I don't know if she has a boyfriend, and I don't know any of her friends, so how can I find out? Also, I'm afraid that if I ask her out and she says "no", then I will feel too embarrassed to talk to her anymore. The class we have is only one semester and is over after Christmas, and after that I probably won't talk to her again. So..... should I ask her out?
