doesnt asking this question annoy you when people get songs by different bands or lennons solo stuff-to me-if you know music-you know the beatles and im quite cross that some people either dont know what theyre talking about or choose some throwaway bad stuff like yellow submarine.
my own personal opinion is that nothing the beatles did before rubber soul is worthy in comparison to anything off that and the following albums.tomorrow never knows off rubber soul is still years ahead of its time now considering they did that in 1966!eleanor rigby is a beautiful song and one of the first of its kind to use just strings.a day in the life is 2 seperate songs melded seamlessly into one and a perfect ending for sgt pepper.mother natures son is lovely too.on the rockier side of things helter skelter is scary considering its a mccartney song and not lennon as youd expect it to be given its ferocity.i agree with one of the earlier answerers that the end section to abbey road is timeless classic music and will probably never be bettered by any band-its such a perfect sign off for the fab 4-a lot of the fools on this will have let it be down as the beatles last album-but you and i know that it was abbey road wont we?abbey road is such a perfect sign off from the beatles-and when you look at the astonishing leap in songwriting and playing that they got from a career that only really lasted around 8 years you realise that we'll probably never see the like of them again-in hundreds of years they will be held in the same reverence as beethoven and mozart-we are truly lucky people to be living in a time when some of the people who made this timeless beautiful music are still alive.
the beatles were always at their best together-and although they all made good records apart from each other they never scaled the heights they did as a group.for me,although i love lots of other kinds of music including stuff released last week i always come back tot the beatles as a benchmark for all the other music i listen to-as a whole body of work they are simply untouchable

BECAUSE has gorgeous harmonies but it's too tranquil for me. HEY JUDE is my fave. It's rythmically solid, has a beautiful soulful melody, and profound lyrics.

1-5:
Hey Jude
Happiness Is a Warm Gun (yeeeaaaaah!)
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
The End (Side 2 of Abbey Road is time capsule music; it will never be topped)
Come Together

It's all personal taste but I seldom tire of is Hello Goodbye.
The album it's from is also my fave Beatles album(ok EP) though the track listing has been added to in later years compared to the original release.
