i fell in love, genuinely for the first time and i can honestly say i had no idea it would end like this. my question is if you've ever been in love and how did it end up. is the word love tossed around like it doesn't have a meaning these days, or do people out there cherish the power of this four letter word.

I noticed over the years that a lot of commercials aimed at women have the rejecting theme, where the guy gets burned. That's probably one of the big reasons why so many men are afraid to ask women out ... we see these commercials too. Is there some sort of psychology being used by the marketing departments of these companies? Some people boost their self-confidence by focusing on those that have accepted them, but others do the opposite: they build a pseudo self esteem by focusing on the number of people that they managed to reject or exclude. Is the latter more common among women? I realize that many women aren't like this, but some clearly are. Any thoughts?
