There is no such thing as a dog flea, a cat flea, a hedgehog flea or a rabbit flea. They are just fleas, and will jump onto the nearest furry animals possible. You need to go to your vet and ask for some flea treatment. If your carpets have fleas in them, ask your vet for some Staykil or something like it. Its a spray which you use to kill fleas and their eggs which are in you carpet, getting there by jumping off your pet.
You will need to thoroughly hoover your carpet, then spray a fair amount of this spray onto your carpet, avoiding leather sofas where possible. When this has been down for half an hour you will need to hoover everywhere again.

I'm not sure if I understand your question. If you mean can dogs catch cat fleas by grabbing hem in their mouth, then I suppose it's possible, and visa versa.
However if you're asking if dogs can get fleas from being around a cat that has fleas, then the answer is yes. There is no difference between cat fleas and dogs fleas.
Fleas are fleas and has nothing to do with the kind of animal they happen to be on.

Not only can dogs catch them but people can get flea bites. Animals in a house must be treated as one, if your cat has fleas treat your dog as well. You should treat all your animals against fleas and worms every six weeks. Personally if I had an animal with fleas I would throw out the bedding and replace it, treat the animal and get a good spray from the vet and go around the house room by room treating each with the window open. The ideal is not to have them on the bed but if its not possible regularly clean sheets. Good luck!

The fleas found on dogs are cat fleas which jump on them as the dog passes by. The easiest way to rid your dog is to use "Frontline Spray" which once applied lasts for about 3 months. Dogs themselves do not have fleas so if cats have fleas they have crossed from cat to dog to cat

Fleas are fleas. Our cat got them when she ran away and was gone for five days. We didn't notice them until the next day when I saw one on my dog. He's never had fleas so I checked the cat and she had brought them home.
K9 Advantix works great on dogs and I forget the stuff we bought for the cat. We got it from the vet though.
