I know that many atheists on yahoo like to rip on people who believe in God, regardless of religion, often calling them morons. Yet if it helps people cope with life and thereby leading happy and prosperous lives, what is the harm?

Looking at it from an atheist perspective, we only have a short amount of time on this planet before returning to oblivion. If believing in a God helps a person remain happy throughout there life and gives them the ability to cope with harsh problems, is it not all for the better of that person?

I'm sure that some will counter with arguments about extremists or religious wars. Keep in mind that the vast majority of religious followers get along fine day-to-day, without harming anyone.

I have been a member of a small church for 8 years. I have counted the money the last 2. My church has about 80 people in it and most are VERY wealthy. I have taken about 65,000 dollars since I started collecting. I feel like I just woke up and now realize I was wrong. I am broke and cannot repay my church. I have an obsession with gambling and am very involed with porn. I need some good advice about what I should do. If they find out about the porn they will not forgive me. Please help me do what is right.

A friend of mine is sitting in jail due to alleged probation violation. When she was arrested in 2004 for no insurance, she was given a 750 dollar fine and 12 months probation. She paid the fine and worked out a deal with the PO that she would only have to call every other week. He even chased her down for $1.50 that he said she didn't pay. She paid it anyway and went along. Well she has since been arrested and the PO is now saying that she had 40 hours of community service that she never did and 51 days left on probation. She had never heard from him after she got off probation and sent him his $1.50 and she has never moved so she is still at the same phone number. When she got off probation last year, she asked the PO for paperwork and he refused to give her any so she just let it go. Any advise??

TIME AND AGAIN WE SAW MANY PPL BEING CONVERTED TO CHRISTAINITY IN INDIA WHO ARE BACKWARD AND DISCRIMINATED AS LOWER CLASES..AM NOT SAYING THAT THEY DO SOMETHING WRONG..BUT ITS TO DO WITH CHRISTIAN FOREIGN MISSIONARIES TRYING TO SPREAD CHRISTIANITY..
SIMILARLY ISLAM SAYS ALL BE CONVERTED TO MUSLIMS...MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD!!AFTER PARTITION MANY HINDUS IN PAKISTAN CONVERTED TO ISLAM ...BUT NO MUSLIM IN INDIA WAS FORCED TO ACCEPT HINDUISM....

SO ITS WITH THEIR WANTING TO SPREADING OF RELIGION THATS CAUSE OF CONFLICT..
IN HINDUISM THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT..WE SPREAD OUR KNOWLEDGE ABT OUR VEDAS..YOGA..AYURVEDA..CULTURE..BUT NEVER TRY TO CONVERT BORN IN DIFFERENT RELIGION TO HINDUISM.

PROOF:WHILE ISLAM AND CHRISTAINITY IS WIDELY SPREAD..HINDUISM IS PRACTISED MAINLY INDIA
