I have been a member of a small church for 8 years. I have counted the money the last 2. My church has about 80 people in it and most are VERY wealthy. I have taken about 65,000 dollars since I started collecting. I feel like I just woke up and now realize I was wrong. I am broke and cannot repay my church. I have an obsession with gambling and am very involed with porn. I need some good advice about what I should do. If they find out about the porn they will not forgive me. Please help me do what is right.

My reputation comes from my father who was a member there for 25 years. Another man helps to count the money but I add it up and write the total on the ticket. I will try some of the suggestions I have gotten. Thank you.

I can't believe the church would put you in a position like that w/o doing some kind of check on you. Don't they give people receipts at the end of the year for taxes? If so I don't know how you haven't been caught. You need to seek some counseling for the stealing,porn, and gambling. You're worried about them not forgiving you about the porn? What about the 65,000 you stole from them? I'm glad you finally see you were wrong but for it to take 2 years for you to realize that is crazy. You do know you could do jail time for this right? That's a felony.

I am surprised that they haven't noticed the 65,000 dollars is missing. Doesn't your church do audits, well if what you are saying is the TRUTH, then you need to confess, confession is good for the soul, and they will want their money back, so you will have to make payments, but you can use your gambling money to repay them, and then you won't have the money to gamble with, since you want to quit gambling that should help you. It is hard to reply to this question because a lot of people in here some crazy things to make us Christians think OH MY GOSH but if you are sincere, then repentence is the only way to go. It will cleanse your soul, you might not be popular with your church after the confession but you will have freedom from the sin from God and that is better.
All churches don't send you to jail, in fact few rarely do, they settle it in the church, but they will want to be repaid.

You must be catholic and yes, they are very hard on people. You need to confess for your own sake and your walk. Seek some help with your addictions, pray for healing and victory over them, and make every effort to repay the church. Who knows? Perhaps they will forgive you of your debts as was written in the Bible. They may also kick you out. If so, do find another church. You may also want to refrain from handling money there.

They will forgive you,maybe not at once butobviousl in time.If it is a catholic church,cofess to the priest but if not,pray to God,name your sins,ask for forgiveness,then receive His forgiveness.
Also know that you must repay the church by returning the money,but since you dont have it right now,then when you do,as long as u do so in full.God bless u...

Tell them what you did, its the church money, they might help you also in your gambling and porn involvement. Just be honest and tell them and be sincere that you are so sorry on what you did and you need their help and willing to work it out.

If you confess they will press charges and you will go to Jail.As long and as slow as it will be,everytime you have money give it to the church.When you want a coke,instead drink water and give the $ to the church.Volenteer to mop floors,paint,any job.If you give of yourself,and truly are sorry show it by actions.
