I one hundred percent agree with you. In the Vedas it is said that God is one but is called by different names. Therefore, you will find that Hindus are very tolerant of other religions and see all religions as leading to one God. Christians and Muslims (though not all) have converted many by force. I have never heard of any Hindu crusaders or Hindu terrorists. Again, I'm not saying that all Chriatians and Muslims are like this. I will admit that some Hindus retaliate when they feel their Dharma being threatened. Hinduism is prevalent outside of India also. The Hare-Krishna movement has people of different ethnicities and walks of life. Maybe you will like to hear this piece of info...I live in Trinidad (in the Caribbean, think Brian Lara of West Indies cricket) and almost half the population are East Indian descendants. Hinduism is widespread in Trinidad. We are all looking forward to Diwali. Before Diwali there are lots of places which will hold Ramleela (the Ramayan in a play format). We light deeyas and do havan. Diwali is a national holiday in Trinidad. There are many temples and we observe almost all the Hindu festivals, Shivratri, Holi, Navratri etc. Because of your question, I'm sure that many people will try to insult you but please ignore them. You have better things to do than think about them. By the way, the caste system was twisted around throughout time. Caste was merely to differentiate people by their profession. In the Ramayan, Shri Ram ate from the same food as Sevari, a low caste. Shri Ram also gave her his blessings. Why should ordinary mortals look down on other castes then? The Bhagvad Gita says that a true devotee sees God equally in all of God's creatures. Hence, no need to segregate based on caste. Anyway, my answer is long so I'll scram now. Very good observation by you and very good question.

All u said is correct to the phrase that sun rises in the east.
Whether or not people agree, the sun will continue to rise.
A .0000002% of hindu people have fought for their religion, ( that also I do consider good as they don't try ever , to convert others to Hinduism, but to protect the existing onmes) still this create a fake image of Hinduus, as people outside India dom't know the fact, but the news that Hindu muslim roits.
Still We think that all born are Hindus.
Religion is not Hinduism , but what method of approaching the God, one follow. Pvsly also the religion in India was the Guru, one follow, like siklh, jain, buddhism,, Radhaswami, etc But above all, all are Hindus only.
One thing I differ with you, is that Hinduism is not wide spread... se all those born are hindus, so whole population on the earth, may be outside , is Hindu.

Your reasoning has some merit, but there is no one religion that can claim perfection. It's true that monotheistic religions tend to be overwrought about the one and only truth. all religions have their own problems, though and none are perfect. For instance Hinduism is very open about many things, and certainly less preoccupied with the one and only truth than the so-called "Abrahamic" religions, but there is a real hangup about purity within Hinduism. For Hindus there are an untold number of food purity hangups, hangups about untouchability, "mlecchas," who can go into certain temples, some domestic animals . . .
There is also a certain intolerant streak which can be awakened even in Hindus. Why else would there be periodic sectarian riots between Muslims and Hindus.

The reason people don't "convert" to Hinduism is because your religion does not readily except converts into it's practice. I see it as rather snobbish personally. Also, while there are 850 million Hindu's in India, there are over 1 billion Hindu's in the world. It's the 3rd largest religion, and growing strong. Maybe more people WOULD convert if you would except them as an actual member of the religion. Hindu religion tend NOT to believe that one can convert to Hinduism. However, those who see Hinduism primarily as a PHILOSOPHY believe that one can convert to "Vedanta".
I'm not sure WHAT your point is, but if you are claiming that Hindu's are an all peaceful religion because they do not actively seek converts, what about the 650,000 displaced Indians in Feb, 2002, Muslims Vs. Hindus in Gadhra, Gujarate? Hindus forced 10,000 Muslims from their homes....What about YOUR last several non-Hindu like questions that condem and put down other religions? I would convert to Atheism before I would convert to Hinduism..I can go on for hours.

Hi.
intersting point, but there is much more to it, unfortunately. Also the muslim have tried to spread their belief, they still do. USA is threatend by muslims who say, only if you all convert to islam, we will stop the terrorist attacks. That is not the right way either... What about Freedom of Religion?????
Christians don't call non-chrisitans sinners, it used to be like that in the Middle Ages. Only where the catholic church is still strong, there it may be. But the protestantic church has always excepted other religions. Please do not generalize!
Regards from Germany
PS: I am Christian.

well, i m Not going to comment on ur comments, apart from one thing, Hindus in Pakistan were Never forced to Convert to Islam, they do so by their choice, and still there are quite a many hindus in Pakistan today (ha, even danish kaneria in Pakistan Cricket Team is a hindu, and we accept him and love him as he is).
well, u seem to know much abt hinduism, but do u know that "hinduism" is Not the True Name of the Religion? it was a name given by foreigners (Persians, when they came to india), to represent the Indus Valley Civilization with the name "hindu". "hinduism" is a geographical based name, u won't find the word "hindu" in ur vedas. the real name is quite hard to pronounce and i don't even remember quite well, but u can look it out urself.
Also, there is Nothing wrong with calling other's to one religion, we just Don't have to force someone to one's own religion. 'coz if u know a truth/fact, then its ur responsibility to tell others abt it, and if they are Not convinced then its their Problem, u just Can't keep the truth/fact to urself, and let others go misguided in darkness.
i also want to invite everyone to Islam. Research on ur own abt Islam. Read The Holy Quran, Read Books of Hadiths (Prophet's Sayings), Research by Authentic Reliable Books & Sites (Don't count on sites that defame Islam, 'coz they spread mis-information and misconceptions abt Islam, and they cant even back up there claims with sufficient proofs, thus they are basically rambling Falsehood abt Islam). Do all this research on ur own and dont believe in anyone's hearsay (Not even mine). May GOD (ALLAH) guide u on The Path of Seeking The Truth.
Peace to All.

I'm not sure what your question is, but here's my take on the matter. Religions that forcefully spread their beliefs do so because they doubt their own validity. Missionaries claim that they are saving people's souls, but what they are really doing is confirming their own unsubstantiated beliefs by tricking others into believing the same things. Most of these people think that if the majority of people agree with them, then they must be correct even regarding false assertions, ie "The sky is red."

I didn't know that about India or Hinduism. Thank you for explaining. I don't think that it is just to spread their religion, I think that is used by Christians to acquire wealth from oil. Islam has been attacked by the Christian hoards for centuries. Christians do not want to believe or allow others to believe. Peace is not what the modern day Christian is about even though that is how it started. Thank you for your enlightenment.

In your Rik vedam The sacrifice is mentioned. Jesus Christ sacrifieced Himself on the cross. and it is in the Vedas. And also it is in your slogams also, Tharithra narayana namaha means born with a poor background., kanni suthaya namaha means born from a virgin"s womb. Like that many slogans are sung about Jesus Christ only. And remember christians do not convert any one. The people from other religion came to know about Jesus and they themselves have come to christianity. Nobody can compell any one. U people want one Mother Therasa and christian missioneries to serve for the lepors and sick in our India. Show me one Hindu person who works for lepors? Christianity is based upon love. No wonder every one likes it and coming towards JesusChrist.

Your point is very interesting and quite true. The same happens with Buddihism. They don't force people to accept their beliefs, they take in the people who want to believe. That is why you hear no one talking bad about Hinduism or Buddishm, and you do hear people talking bad about Christians: it's because they have a unilateral vision of the world and want everyone to be like them, they call people who don't believe in Jesus sinners. Pathetic.
