Store the non-essentials in the store or in a closet.

get rid of stuff you really don't want maybe sell at a car boot sale .
put shelves up and arrange your stuff on it,have you room under your bed fill some boxes up and put under there.
do you know the boxes that stack Addis brand make them cheaper ones available in poundstretchers buys say 4 of them and put your stuff in them and stack them in a corner.
I dont know what your room size is but my 6 yr old is in the small room we have put in shelves and the boxes get filled with toys and are put on the shelves she has a desk with shelves above it with her small items on it trinet boxes and dvds
the tv is wall mounted and a shelf underneath hold a dvd player .
if you have a wardrobe a shelf above the clothes is handy or lower the rail and put in a shelf my wardrobe has loads of stuff hidden nicely.
have you an attic for stuff you do want to keep but it does not need to be out on display,

Try IKEA if there's a branch near you. They do lots of storage solutions from boxes to really good shelving. We moved from a 15-roomed house to a 5-roomed bungalow (3 if you don't count the kitchen and bathroom!) so we have done a lot of serious sorting out (which you do need to do as well!) and re-organisation.

It demands some committment to getting rid of stuff you really don't need to keep.

Try to organize loose stuff in boxes or containers that you can quickly put away if you don't need them. Think hard about what you really need in your room and what you just use ocasionnally. make room for some really nice features that you love and put them on "display" and get rid (clean up or put in boxes etc) of unneccessary stuff.

Start thinning out and organizing. Keep only what you have used in the past 8 months, donate everything else.

Transfer some of the things to another room or to the basement if you have one.

nothing is really totally necessary in a bedroom, get rid of all the extraneous stuff by selling it on ebay or car boot etc
