Until the last century, homosexuality was illegal - even considered a form of mental illness. Most of us now know better.

Consider that in the ancient world, slaves were used as the owner saw fit; men women and children - particularly pre-pubescent boys. In the Middle ages in Europe it was not unusual to be married with children by the time you were sixteen and many cultures today still have child marriages. The age of consent in Holland is 12 and in Japan they don't have one.

Obviously there comes a point when all children are too young, but at 11 I would have loved some attention from my French teacher. I probably wasn't suitably equipped for it, but if I had been gay, or female and been had by a male teacher that I'd fancied, it would have been a good, rather than a bad experience.

Presumably paedophillia is a sexual orientation like being straight, bi or gay. As all people are natural animals - maybe it's just society in our current time and place that makes it wrong?

What I know about so far, it started out as a group people who worked with their hands -like skilledlabor, they formed an organization -like Seafarers.

Today they carry political weight larger than governemtns and any other informal organizations.

My ex says i'm the woman his heart yearns for, but his mind tells him my lack of direction in life means he wont be successful with me. Is this just a ploy to stay in my bed, or his he really struggling to rationalise.
I've always known he was lead by logic, and being somewhat of a free spirit i often let my heart rule me, but is there really no middle ground.
Are your either ruled by 1 or the other (heart/mind).
Are we star struck lovers, or is this just the basic human condition, wanting to have your cake and eat it.

I was conversing with a co-worker and somehow the conversation came to a discussion about someone that he knew that had passed away from AIDS. Apparently, the individual that died of AIDS was a known IV drug user. But the person that I was talking with was "convinced" that he must have got AIDS by "experimenting" with homosexual activities. The word play really bothered me...first, he couldn't accept that AIDS can be transmitted several ways (not just limited to sexual activity). Second, he couldn't accept that homosexuality is anything other than "experimentation". Isn't this mentality backward? Please tell me that not many bumpkins like this exist...

Having just returned from Belgium, I see a big difference between our lives. There, everyone is more at ease, relaxed socially, and here, I always feel like I am judged. Over there, they love you for 'who' you are not what you are or what you look like....they live a beautiful life.Today, I dislike that I am British....
