I keep my desktop and two laptops on all the time,, providing the laptop is running on mains power, and you've disabled the power saving options, then it should be no problem. To disable the power saving right click on your desktop, sekect "Properties" and click on the "Screen Saver" tab, next click on the "Power" button, and set all the options to "Never". Also check in the BIOS on the laptop, quite often there are power options in there too, make sure they are all disabled. Also as stated above get a good screen saver.

Hope this helps !!

I leave my laptop on 24/7 and it never shuts down. If your other one does, you can go into Control Panel and change the setting. Contrary to belief, this does not hurt computers to leave them running constantly. Just get a good screen saver.
