I was waiting for the bus today, and while waiting, I had just returned from selling back some of my college textbooks, and I was in a hurry and just shoved the money in my pocket all wadded up. Well, I was waiting for the bus at a park downtown, and had grabbed a soda and a hot dog from a local vendor in the park. A homeless man came up to me and asked if I could spare some money for him and his wife to get something to eat. I reached into my pocket, (knowing how much a hot dog and soda cost) and gave the man $5.00. He asked if I could spare a couple dollars MORE, (he saw how much money I had in my pocket and that I went through it to find a 5 dollar bill). He thanked me and told me that I would be rewarded and it would come back to me (karma) and that he would introduce me to his wife. He came back with his wife and introduced her to me. He then asked AGAIN for more money. I got irriated and said "hey, have you ever heard the term don't look a gift horse in the mouth?" (more)

I'm a college freshman. My american literature class just gave me my first assignment. You know that book Catcher In the Rye? I need to adopt Holden's voice and transport him into our time and make him comment on an issue of our world today. I was thinking myspace, but I think that will be too commonly used. ...to go into the station and unload. while i was sitting there i saw a light. it was black and they are all around the station. i wanted to touch it. so i reached over and made contact with it. at the same instant i was shocked. i mean. electricity. tons of it. right through my finger into my body. it hurt like hell and my whole arm was numb for like 5 minutes. so my question is, why did i get shocked?
