I have a problem that's written out like this:

x+2y=8

I'm supposed to find the slope, or gradient, and the y intercept. I know how to do it on a formula like y=mx+c but how you would you find it on something like this?

The second part of the question says "find the equation of the line which passes through the points (3,4) and (-2,-11)". Again, I know how to do it with the other type of formula.

If anyone would be so kind to explain it to me? Thanks a lot in advance :)

Someone told me if my car had under insured motorist it covers any one who drives it why do I need 2 put my son on it then. The insurance company says I have to but this other person has 3 kids and 2 cars fixed after they drove them with under insured motorist on his insurance. confused in TEXAS

have a choice of traveling to MI to see my guy... who we may break up in a month or so... he is a great guy but i can't stand the distance...

i really wanna travel though, and this would be a good excuse.. but the trip isn't till next month... i dont wanna break up with him, but again, the distance is terrible (like 500 miles)...

Did Bush forsee this when he went for the oil. Cause if the media doesn't do its job by informing the American public, will they try to hide it with shows of Paris Hilton. Then surprise us when a hostile act of war from IRAQ occurs. I know we can blow the whole damn military of IRAQ to smitherines. I just recently had a cholesterol panel done and while my total cholesterol dropped, my triglycerides rose. What might have caused this?

I decreased the amount of fatty foods I ate during the time between the two tests, started exercising, ate more vegetables. I'm wondering why my triglycerides are continuing to climb while my total cholesterol is dropping.

I have a beautiful wood floor in my home (my husband is a floor installer) he freaked out when he saw me using water and vinegar to clean it with (bit of dish soap too). He said NO WATER!! But he didn't have a good suggestion for what to use. He just said get a floor cleaner. Most floor cleaners I see are also polishes. I don't want to polish a dirty floor...right? Please help.

I'm 21 years old and know that I am not an ugly guy as I see women checking me and been told by several girls whilst I was in a relationship that they like me. I am looking to heat my home with a corn stove. Currently I use natural gas which is about $12.00 per unit (I can't remember the unit). I keep hearing about corn and it being more cost effective then natural gas.

How much does it cost per month in corn/electricity to run the stove? How warm will it be?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks
