It was about 5 or 6 years ago I think. I finally agreed to visit my friend's church to see what it was like (I'm an atheist). It was a very disturbing experience.

I didn't know anything about it at the time, but the day I visited was a day of communion. They started passing around little cups of wine and tiny crackers and I started thinking they were all part of some cult or something. Then people started singing and waving their hands in the air with their eyes closed. Some started crying, some even fainted. If anyone had stared speaking in tongues, I would have run out of there as fast as I could.

I was an atheist before that experience and I am still one today. If the church I went to is anything like most churches then I don't understand why people like going to them so much.

I "attended" my church on Sunday and I plan on going to Bible study this evening. You are only a "visitor" in my church the first time you come. After that, you're a new member!

The Sunday after Saddam Hussein declared a Holy War...
just before I went to the Gulf to whoop his militarys a@@ back to the stone age.

Haven't been to church since - been IN a church to admire artwork and reverance...but not to worship.

I do that outdoors, now...

Sunday, but I don't just visit, I am an active participant! I love to go and worship God, learn how to live holy and renew my mind and spirit at LEAST 3 times a week.
