I don't think you should prolong it. If you prolong it, you're just going to prolong pain and suffering too.

I've done the same thing and 3 months later...I'm still feeling the pain...

Long-distance romance is best reserved for the most experienced, most emotionally mature and most financially capable--in other words, those who can afford to travel to their lovers, and often.

Being a "couple" means being "together", not being pen-pals and fone friends.

As far as the trip, if you're going there just to break-up with the guy, you'd better think twice. That's his turf, and do you really want to piss off the only person you (probably) know in a strange place?

You "really want to travel, though"? Does that mean he's paying for the trip and you plan to break it off with him when you get back?

If so, that's very, very nasty and wrong so don't do it.

Finally, nobody needs "an excuse" to travel unless they're a little kid. And a little kid shouldn't be allowed to travel 500 miles to see a love interest, anyway.

Good luck. To you AND the guy.

Go see him and see what fires up. It it feels like you can't handle the distance then don't prolong the evident. Don't feel bad though because long distant relationships aren't for everyone especially if you don't ever plan on moving together and being together

Well if he's great as in everything you've always wanted in a guy. I'd say keep him & try to make it work & visit him as much as possible...always leaving him wanting more though. ^_^

If he's just ok & not really worth waiting for then I'd break up w/ him. Long distance relationships are hard. & you have to really work at them, and be really trusting!

500 miles is quite a distance. If it's affecting you now, you should cut your losses now before later. Making it work is possible, but very very hard.

Go ahead and go

Have fantastic sex

then break it off because it's too damn expensive to travel

And if he wants to bang you any more, he's got to pay for the travel

How does he feel about the long distance relationship? Talk to him about it and then decide!

go visit him whenever you can. If he's worth all the traveling then you should go and see him.
