The current president, GW Bush, amazingly, sometimes uses the phrase "human rights," when he obviously has no real understanding of the term (or despises it). He basically supports torture and premeditated killing. His use of the term implies that his hearers too (the American people) do not understand human rights either. What would it take to enable Americans to understand human rights? (I just know a lot of teens will rant their support of the death penalty here, if they comprehend at all that the death penalty is a human rights issue. Perhaps they'd do better to visit AI USA's web site instead of this one. So many kids are in desperate need of self respect.)
