Just as there is a UN, should there be a council for the many different beliefs people hold? Maybe they would be able to combine funds to help individual groups in need. What do you think?

Just as the UN was a bad idea, this is also.

The UN was formed to control the world as we know it, don't be surprised when you start seeing all your freedoms dissappear in the not so distant future.

Imagine that every time you have to pay a bill or do anything in your life, a committee decides on whether it gets paid or not. How many bills would get paid? Your credit would be ruined in a matter of weeks, when some of the people on the committee feel that they'd rather buy uniforms than pay your credit card bill.

Everybody needs to make their own religious decisions, I certainly wouldn't want a power hungry commitee making decisions about what I should believe, I already have a textbook that's difficult to understand at times and even harder to live by, I don't need a committee mucking it up for me and trying to force me to belive a bunch junk.

I love this idea. I am a Christian who feels that the motto live and let live should be kept. We can't force people to believe in Christ. Taht is not what he wanted. If we establish a committee to do what you propose then we will be fulfilling our duties as Christians and we will be uniting the religions of the world to work together for the betterment of everybody. I think this is a great idea. If only it could truly happen, but there are too many radicals in all of the different religions.

Right at this time in history, it may not be a very timely idea. Or, we could send them all into a padded room with lots of holy books and just see who comes out at the end of the day. That would solve the problem, unless the Berkeley crowd was the only survivor. LORDY

That would be like asking McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, White Castle, etc... to cooperate.

Make no mistake: religious sects see each other as competition in a finite market.
