Coming from a nurse, this person should seek medical and psychological therapy. Obviously there are more issues than just the food. People use food as a crutch by either indulging too greatly or depriving themselves of the nutrition they need. When certain electrolytes, sodium and potassium, are not in check, heart problems can occur. These two ions are the two which control the electrical activity in the heart and cause it to beat. You have too much or too little and you'll be seeing a heart attack or some other arrhythmia surfacing.

not eating small and STEADY meals causes muscle deterioration. the HEART is a muscle!! and the first to be damaged is the valves of the heart. and the first thing that happens with a damaged heart is WEIGHT GAIN!! due to inefficient system functions.
