In another thread, a Christian poster insisted that I was "quoting the bible out of context"....so can someone PLEASE tell me under WHAT context would:

1.) Selling your children into slavery or beating slaves to death (Exodus 21:20-21),

2.) Commanding (or committing) acts of genocide (1Samuel 15:2-3),

3.) Inflicting infinite punishment for a finite transgression (Matthew 25:46),

4.) Discriminating against the handicapped (Lev. 21:17-23), or

5.) Forcing a woman to marry her rapist (Deut. 22:28-29)

would EVER be considered moral, righteous, or just?

While visiting India, George Bush is invited to tea with President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He says that, it is to surround himself with intelligent people.

Bush asks how he knows if they're intelligent.

"I do so by asking them the right questions," says the Kalam.
"Allow me to demonstrate."

Bush watches as Kalam phones Manmohan Singh and says, "Mr. Prime
Minister, please answer this question: your mother has a child, and your
father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?"

Manmohan immediately responds, "It's me, Sir !"

"Correct. Thank you and good-bye, sir," says the Kalam. He hangs up and
says, "Did you get that, Mr. Bush?" Bush nods: "Yes Mr. President. Thanks
a lot. I'll definitely be using that!" Bush, upon returning to Washington ,
decides he'd better put the Condoleeza Rice to the test. Bush summons
her to the White House and says, "Condoleeza, I wonder if you can answer
a question for me."

"Why, of course, sir. What's on your mind?"

Bush poses the question: "Uhh, your mother has a child, and your father
has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Rice was puzzled and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back
to you?" Bush agrees, and Rice leaves. Rice immediately calls a meeting of
senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours,
but nobody can come up with an answer. Finally, in desperation, Rice
calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.

"Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and
this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Powell answers immediately, "It's me, of course."

Much relieved, Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush,
and exclaims, "I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It's our Colin Powell!"

And Bush replies in disgust, "Wrong, its Manmohan Singh!"…………

....He is a good honest man, he might have have lost the Democratic Primary because he is George Bush and Dick Cheney's friend - but he still is an honest man and honest Politician....not like most of the politician. I will vote for him - what about you??

I am living with an alcoholic. He is not physically abusive but verbally he can be hostile. Everything has to be perfect and done his way. I am in love with him and have been for 7 years. We have really good days and then REALLY bad days when he drinks where i think i cant take it anymore. Then he turns around and is perfect. My mother is trying to wrench me away but I just cannot make the decison to stay or go. He says he cannot live without me which just fills me with guilt. Please help me from someone who has been there. I have to decide today what to do, my mother lives out of state and she is ready to pack me up and leave.
How come I cannot stop thinking about how much it will hurt him to leave instead of myself?

hello. I have a huge problem. I'm terrified of dogs!
It's a huge problem for me coz though i fear them i also find them cute and i want to own one as well (in the future, maybe!) But my phobia for dogs has gone to bad to worst.
im not afraid of the "dog"...im afraid of what it does, like charge at me, bark as if telling me i should start running.

what should i expect from dogs? some dogs dont do anything they just stay there but im most difficult with dogs who aren't afraid to make communication. =0(

I ask because I am in a quandry about the new help I have hired. All of them are Indians (like the country) and all are vegetarians. I asked my new man, Rashed, to fix me up a nice t-bone, rare, with all the fixings. I got an earful of the sin of eating animals. What is he, a PETA shill? Anyway, after consuming a dinner of some kind of leaves, beans, and I think bark ,I retired to my room only to awake with a sawed off head of a rutabega in my bed. One of my prized ones at that. Should I reconsider his employment status (I do owe him a favor and his daughters are rather fetching) or should I learn to eat grass and like it?

This girl says she likes me a little bit more than a friend but won't go out with me. She told me she needs time to get over her ex-boyfriend. She hasn't called me at all this week and yesterday when I called her brother told me she went to hang out with her ex. I am just really confused. Why won't this girl just give me a straight answer. Do you think she may be not wanting to hurt me? Cause it hurts alot more not knowing. It's like she went from talking to me everyday to completley avoiding me and we didn't have a fight or anything. I want to get over her but I like her so much is it possible her feelings could change and she will stop playing games with me?

The car has 84,000 miles on it; during the last 9,000 miles I have replaced the following:

Spark plugs
Plug wires
Distributor cap
Transmission rebuild
Fuel filter
Injector cleaning

The car is sluggish....if I push it to the floor it sticks at about 4,000 rpm's for 10 seconds then shifts and is sluggish still. It feels like a fuel related problem, but the mechanic I took it to found nothing wrong. The car is so slow that a Cavalier could beat it! Anyone have any ideas?

I don't remember. Time is such a wild concept. If you think about matters like this too often, can you possibly get cancer? I'm wondering because I've heard that just the air you breathe can cause cancer, so be default, it seems that every question could somehow be related to cancer?
