Well it depends. If it is polished you will need to buff it out with various grits of pads and polishes. If it is 'grained' do what I do when doing fabrication. USE SANDPAPER. Yes sandpaper. I know you're thinking no way am I going to sand my expensive stainless.... Well How do you think it gets there... Start out with some thing fine like 320 grit and progressively use courser and courser grits until you find the one that matches. most ss products end up with something around 180 grit but again that depends on the product. I know for instant on railing I manufactured we ended with 80 grit, and others were 60 or even 36 grit.... Start with an assortment pack and use the finer first., rub it gently at first until the paper becomes 'seated' and then give a little more 'oomph'. It will look a little different at first but once the chromium oxidizes you'll never know the difference...

I've used brass polish to get off fine scratches. Some generic
"metal" polishes have worked, too.

you can try polishing it with an electric buffer , but stainless is a very hard metal , there is really no effective way to do it.

You can rub a little veggie oil on it and it will reduce the appearance of scratches.
