If your computer came with a virus scanner, use that to scan your computer...if not, download AVG...it's free and works great!

I doubt you have viruses in a new Dell. Where is it telling you that? Dell sends McAfee with it does it not? Get rid of the sample McAfee and get Norton Internet Security 2006. It will run a virus scan first thing and on its website support has downloads to fix all known viruses. I am not confident in free virus software.

You got this from down loading something from a website. you need to run your anti virus software to either quarantine or repair the infected file . this virus is fairly common and the software should be able to fix it.

it's not the computer's fault, it's the users fault for not downloading an anti-virus, but anywas, go to www.majorgeeks.com if you don't have an anti-virus program, then click on "anti-virus" on the left, download AVG, it's free and it's good. after you get it updated, scan your computer for viruses in the safe mode, and also turn off system restore so the virus won't repated its self, to do that right-click on "my computer", click on the "system restore"tab, then check turn off system restore. after the virus is removed, log on normally and turn on system restore.

good luck.
