Hello All

i was wondering if it was best to meditate with perfect silence, to have some noise(such as a cd with waves crashing or rain falling), or is it all just a matter of personal preferance?

i own 15 animals:
3 horses
2 mini goats
2 parrots
5 chickens and 3 dogs(soon to be 4)
they are all well taken care of and have plenty of food, water and shelter and see the vet regularly. some of the things i hear that people do to animals just makes me want to beat them with a 2x4. then they would find out how it feels to be abused for no reason. am i wrong for feeling this way? (i don't think so)

The Prius battery costs thousands of dollars to replace. If someone tried to jump start with a regular battery and cables would it hurt the hybrid's battery to the point of having to replace it?

Researching the internet on my Umbilical Hernia and after visiting a couple of doctors, I found out there are different kinds of operations you can do. I am looking for the one with minimal scarring, fastest recovery and safest results. Does anyone have experiences which will be helpful? Please give description of the procedure, if you've had this kind of surgery or work in the medical field.

Any alternative healing techniques you can suggest instead of surgery?

This is my 4th child but I've never had such a boobaholic like this one! He only wants to nurse and doesn't want any food at all. I started introducing solids at 6 mos a little at a time. I make my own baby food so it's very yummy. He will take a bite here and there but that's about it. He's a chunk (at the 90th percentile) and healthy as can be but should I be concerned that he only wants to breastfeed? I've always had good eaters and they were all breastfed the same. Any information and advice will be appreciated.

Some times you encounter, a question that means more to you than mere points to collect.

Sometimes, the question hits home and it is very personal in some way.

Some people will ignore it, because it touches the very fiber of your soul.

And there are some that truely try to answer to help, they give it their all, to help. In the hope that in some profound way, they are perpetuating the good we hope to see in the world. When we see ugliness sneaking into our lives everyday.

I don't care about the points, or that some other shallow jerk will mock me.

But I think I just stumbled across one of those questions, and totally wasted (did I waste it) two hours to write the answer, at least my answer for it.

I wrote a poem and sent it in to poetry.com. It was selected to be published in IMMORTAL VERSES. also enrtered contest and the poem is being put in the semi-finials as well. Is this book any good? I do know it is about poetry. Any info I can get would be wonderful.
