This is my 4th child but I've never had such a boobaholic like this one! He only wants to nurse and doesn't want any food at all. I started introducing solids at 6 mos a little at a time. I make my own baby food so it's very yummy. He will take a bite here and there but that's about it. He's a chunk (at the 90th percentile) and healthy as can be but should I be concerned that he only wants to breastfeed? I've always had good eaters and they were all breastfed the same. Any information and advice will be appreciated.

bloo you just gave me an idea. Maybe I should let him feed himself. I've always been afraid of that due to choking but let's see how it goes. I just made some pasta so I'll give that a shot. You are a great help :)

I'm not sure how much solids your baby should be eating but i will tell you that my 7 month old is breastfed and does the same things yours does and i have noticed that he prefers regular food from our plates rather than store bought baby food.
Sorry i'm no help!...maybe we are filling their tummies with to much milk.

Until 12 months old, solids are for experimentation and social value, not for nutrition. So as long as your child is happy with playing with the food, that's fine. The majority of baby's diet whould continue to be nursing, and if he doesn't eat *any* solids, that's fine, too. Some babies aren't ready to even start solids until right around the first birthday (and occasionally even later).

Sounds like you got a real guy there. ;-)
When you think things are getting too much, you have to set the limits. If you stop giving him as much as he wants, he'll get hungry enough to eat the other food.
My daughter ate the same thing we ate, put through a blender, so when the blender broke one day and we gave her some Gerber's, she spit it out and stayed with whole milk until the blender was back.
She still loved her milk out of the bottle. When she was about to turn 4, I said to her 'In 2 years you'll start going to school, at this rate when you have your milk from the bottle all the kids are gonna laugh at you'.
She stopped that moment and never had another bottle, just drank from a cup.

My daughter did not devour for more effective or less 3 days a month or 2 in the past. We took her to the dr because she wasn't even protecting down formula. What they'd us do replaced into take a syringe and each ten minutes, we may squirt 10 ml of pedialyte into her mouth. It replaced right into a hardship yet after some hours, she began protecting down her formula back and the subsequent day, she replaced into eating like she continuously were. i could say try that because that's no longer likely to harm her if it would not artwork. reliable success!

The first year of life is for experimentation with food, not for actual nutritional value. Their main source of nutrition should first and foremost be either breast milk or formula. My son just turned 1 last weekend and breast milk is still him main nutrition, but I am now starting to introduce more solids. He will tell you when he is ready for more. TRUST ME ON THAT! lol

Stop worrying sweetie. When he is hungry enough for solids he will eat them. He's not having his health put at risk so as long as you are happy with the arrangement, stick with it.
Your little man is fine.

I know it does not sound like much but if they have one tablespoon from each food group, per day, that is plenty,
fruit, vegie, meat, cerial
Do not stress. The child will eat when he is ready.
