I just don't understand why so many Christians deny evolution. It is clearly, demonstrably plausible and likely. And with a contextual (rather than literal) understanding of Scripture, it is also reasonable and acceptable to believe without limiting God in any way.

It is just plain silly to believe a literal interpretation of Genesis. Seven days? A day is simply an amount of time relative to the orbits of the earth and sun. They, according to literalists, didn't exist until a few days into the Creation Week. What?

Literalism and fundamentalist ideas like 7-day creationism are so incredulous as to make Christians look backwards and ridiculous.

We have nothing to fear from genuine science; it can only teach us more about creation.

I just watched it and this is what I saw.
I can imagine that we return to separate consciousness clusters and absorb each other's experience. Then I can imagine that process would include gathering enough like clusters to be able to have the strength to break through the frequencies only seen by us combining. Then when we add our experience to the original circle and deposit it and then feel the comfort of contributing. It looks like a pyramid if you picture it in your mind. Some people don't want to go back home though. It would mean a whole new way of existing and I can't comprehend that? Anyone else wonder about this. If that concept is a pyramid, then what is the essence of what is outside that pyramid. Seems like only the curious would try to know. ;) Just a thought that popped in my head. I am religious and don't study any mystic stuff, just an idea I had. I'm not on any drugs, just daydreaming

The European Union, despite it's rocky start has a growing economy and China has the fastest growing economy, ready to overtake the US as the largest. Many Pro-US members have made the point that despite president's mistakes and despite the ill-fated wars we are waging, the United States remains on top and is a country which is envied. The United States is doing well, but as jobs are exported and other countries produce lower cost goods and services, do you think our economy will fall from it's #1 spot in our lifetime? Furthermore, the our military dominance is wavering as European and Russian defence contractors build cheaper warplanes which are just as effective, along with comparable munitions and other equipment. Our only chance is that our allies will stand together as a base to support us. If we truly weaken do you think they will feel the need to dedicate themselves to us? I don't mean 5 or 10 years from now, but maybe 40 or 60 or 100...could 1 more BIG war do it?

My Dachshund puppy is terrified of my stairs. I have to carry her up and down many times a day. I've tried sitting on a step to get her to come up one by one and tried pulling her with a leash up, nothing works. She's scared stiff and cries whenever I try to get her to go up. She can go down if I leave her in the center of the staircase, but not from the top. Is she physically unable to go up because of her long frame? Any tips to help her with this?

about 2 years ago my wife & i were separated, some hard times we were going through and she met someone, nothing never came of it becuz I confornted her about it. we got back 2 gether and everything was great. I just found out she was seeing someone,going out to lunch with this person, just really making time to see this person. Then would come home to me,loving me,not coming across like things were that bad with us. we just had a great family vacation and everything and the whole time she was messing around with this person. I love my wife and don't know how 2 do anything else. but the pain of this is heavy on my heart, how do I get through this? how can we as couple get through this?
