Employers want to hire people who are (1) qualified to do the job, (2) will fit into the organization's culture, and (3) don't appear to be risky.
The question you received is a game. Respond with your qualifications and DO NOT make the interviewer feel that your attributes are out of alignment with the other employees you've met. (If everyone had soccer paraphenalia in their offices, don't point out how much you hate sports.)
Show your confidence and sell yourself. People must judge you, and they will look to you to set the tone. If you can successfully communicate your confidence and enthusiasm, you double or triple your chances.
Remember, three months after you've started work, you will wonder why they don't pay you more. Might as well have that confidence now.

You should offer me this job because
A. I don't freebase crystal meth
B. I don't spend my days downloading japanese porn
C. I live at home, so I won't ever ask for a raise.
* On a more serious note: If they ask you that, just tell them:
You should offer me this job because I will not only meet your expectations as a member of your team, I will exceed them as well. This will blow away the dude or dudette doing the interview.

Because I truly believe in growing with the company and taking part in the growth of the company, being a team man. Hence the company will be best served as the efforts put in by me along with the co-workers will result in synergy and realising the short term and long term goals of the co.,

Honestly...Because given the opportunity to work for your company would be a great opportunity for myself as well as you...I know I can be a valuable asset and really feel I can make an impact for the better. All I need from you is the opportunity and I will take care of the rest.
