Yes, I agree. There are restrictions and limitations placed on anything given by government, and it must be accountable. Also, if they give, they can take away.

This question actually required some thought. While I agree with the statement on it's face, I think the reality is very complex. The government does indeed attempt to execise control over the citizens with every action it takes. However, the nature of this control can be very deceptive at times.
Loose Change for those who don't know is another installment from the lunatic fringe about how the government planned and carried out the 911 attacks. The movie uses half truths, and distortions of facts to make it's points. If you are going to see you should balance it by reading Popular Mechanics report on the 911 conspiracies.

Agree....simply because we are human not animal to supercede the society....God has given independence to everyone, therefore, if a person desires to have material enjoyment and wants very sincerely to have such facilities its surely not against the law of nature. We know God Himself does not interfere with human independence, but gives all faciliteis so that they cna fulfill their material desires.......................And here started the question of supremacy.
At initial stage we were just like animals and never cared for fellows....but that was not to live longer because it started to dawn us we must prove ourselves away from animals....and each one must have his or her share of desire....and therefore the concept of government came into existence. "Government" does reflect there is a body who governs the thing. And it was first step of the "Government" to make some basic rules for proportionate distribution among folk....sometimes those who were superior or commandant must have felt all things were not going great according to their direction....so naturally later they formed apt rules to "Control"....but still control does not mean the government holds everything....certainly it was not a dictatorship.
And without the supreme will....race of man would not have remained powerful in universe....and thats why in a way your quotation does carry the agreeable point :"The Government gives Government Controls."

Absolutely agree. If they are giving people hand outs, some control over the spending should be retained.
If they give some young mother $500 to feed her kids and she smokes it, how long do you think they should keep giving her the money without some controls?

Don't agree. Rather, I feel that nothing is free and everything has a string attached to it. Government always give incentives before election. This is a very common way to gain support. There is no control to it, but rather, hidden agenda.

yes, i agree. the government makes some concessions to the population, but by doing so it's actually controlling the outcome of something that would have happened anyway.
for example, prostitution. it's the oldest business in the world and it cannot be stopped. some countries legalized and so they accepted that they cannot stop it. they gave in. but they did it in a controlled manner: the prostitutes have to go to the doctor on regular basis and so on...

Too right! Furthermore, I'm sick and tired of over-regulation, laws meant to protect only stupid people and idiot disclaimers like "Warning! Contents are hot!" on coffee cups. Argh!
