My husband has to get his tonsils out next week... the dr. told him that this will stop snoring and prevent throat cancer. People should not have their tonsils in after 50.... has anyone else heard this?

I am a new high school math teacher, male, and single. Have never been to the Caribbean or Latin America, but would love to teach down there (I had a few offers). One of my biggest concerns frankly is the type of women, as I am ready for marriage and LOVE Latin, black, and mulatta women. However, I would like to find someone smart, educated, assertive, physically fit. I worry that such women are few and far between in some of these places, because of poverty (feel sorry for them).

The countries I am considering are Trinidad, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Venezuela. My ideal woman would be smart, assertive, athletic, tough, and swarthy. Thank you in advance!

the Electric Companies to terminate service for failure of payment during triple digit heat waves. The Electric Companies do not like the idea (duh) and released a statement proclaiming that they already have a policy into play that does not allow the termination of service during triple digit weather. They lied. Because we got nearly a $500.00 electric bill for last month ( I really don't know why so high, we keep thermo on 78) and I called to make arrangements for payment. They threatened us with a cut-off. We have had triple digit weather non-stop here for 2 weeks. I wish there was a way to get this information to the right people and let them know that even if there is a policy on paper, that the Electric Companies do not go by it. Any ideas on who to contact with this information and who to tell that we need this Bill? There are people worse of than me (elderly and such) who cannot pay the high rates and need time to pay off the bill.

there are always going to be some people take advantage of these programs but a majority of people that use these programs benefit to make something of themselves. before these programs were passed by lbj and fdr we has a higher unemployment rate, less people in college, and more people without good housing. thanks to these programs over time many families have broken the cylcle of poverty. that is the goal of these programs to break a cycle of poverty that many families have endured for generations. source: im a social work grad student who has studied this subject extensively.

I am in high school and I want to play girls basketball. I just wated to know if anyone had any ideas on how to get in shape, drills, tips, advice on try-outs. I don't kow how to get in shape and actually improve. Does anyone also know how to CORRECTLY do a good lay-up. I'm okay in basketball, but the easiest thing is very hard for me to do. I can shot a 3-pointer, but for the life of me i can't shot a lay-up. If ayone had any ideas, tips or advice, I'd ppreciate it.
