It was set in a future were genetic enginering was prevelant. They found a way to geneticly enginer people who didnt need sleep and as a result are super intelligent and they do not age past a certain point. Eventually the build a space station and live there with a few exeptions because they are not welcome on earth.

I think it was written in the late 70's to early 80's. it is a series of three books. I checked them out of the library about 7 years ago and now I can't remember the titles or author please help.

Before anyone judges me, I really need some advice rather than judgement.
The relationship I am in is very painful. We've been together for five years and he don't communicate, have intimacy, talk to each other, etc. I understand relationships are not perfect nor am I trying to change him. I have tried my bets to communicate but it ends up in a disturbing fight and I get close to passing out. I have two children, he watches them during the day while I work. We have limited funds.
I have a friend I recently met and talk to him about my issues. I needed to get away so we went out to eat, have drinks and just laugh. We had a sex and it made me feel very beautiful again.
I feel I needed the touch and support that he was giving me and I wanted to know for myself where my heart was since I have been feeling lost and too emotional.
I can't stop thinking about him and he said neither can he.
Any genuine advice, thanks.

One of every ten people have schizophrenia in this country. Of all that I have contacted, most are extremely religious and are directed in thought and action by these spirits. As a person that enjoys and is comfortable in reality, I see this attachment to spirits interesting. Is this an escape from the real tangible world because of a perceived fear? Even for those without schizophrenia?
