Has the internet affected the spread of your believe system?

I'm a redhead and I get called names all the time, mostly by boys. Although all of them think I'm pretty they still call me those names and I cant help but feel horrible and want to run and hide. Even my boyfriend called me a sick name before.

I have 2000+ files to sort. The naming convention is a # sign plus 5 digits, then a space, then a variable length string, then " - " followed by a three character month and four digit year w/ no spaces in between the month and year.
e.g. "#12345 Filename Arbitrary Word Selection - mar2005.pdf"
I need to be able to sort by the first 6 characters, and the last 7 characters, minus the ".pdf" or other extention. What would be an easy way to do this in VBA? I figured I could just read the filename with a string function that returns the character at a certain position in the string, but I cant find the function anywhere, and im getting frustrated. If anyone can help me out, id appreciate it.

I point out things like how she snickers at bad drivers but occassionally she'll make a bad move behind the wheel and laugh it off. Or how she is not generous to others, but when on the receiving end she will call others cheap or wonder why they aren't more generous. So when I point these things out, she says this is how she's always been and that this is the person that I married. She'll ask me why I wan't to change her and above all why did I even marry her if I'm not happy with the person whe is? I respond by saying that is a cop-out in that we should always strive to be a better person. And also that it's not true - I do love her for who she is but I also want her to know if she's acting wrong or could be a better person. To her, it's just me pointing out her flaws - she becomes defensive and angry. Who's right here? And is there a better way to approach this?

Everyone knows the stores, the clerks ask,cashiers ask... they ALL try to say sign you up and tell you.. hey you can SAVE 10 % on this purchase. My question is WHY does a company base everyday operations on getting customers to sign up.We are told at meetings that our percentages everyday are based on how many we can get... contests are even held.. points are given( I even seen cashiers fight over who gets the signup) and all other stores are compared... at the last meeting we were told BY THE STORE MANAGER the week sucked so bad that maybe we should look for another job??? so guess what I QUIT!! Please can anyone explain why companies are doing this?.... the credit card debt is soooo bad in Canada right now and I just dont agree with this policy am I wrong???

Could it be a scam if you are asked to give $100.00 cash or money-order for a backround check? You will find out the same day of the interview if you are hired and the money will be refunded AFTER the training period. The interviews are closing the same day you respond to the newpaper ad, adding urgency to your decision. It feels like a scam. Is it common practice for employers to ask for employees to pre-pay for their own backround checks?
